This charming home is close to coveted restaurants and boutiques, family-friendly activities, and a short walking distance to Nantucket town. Built in 1747 and featured on the Nantucket Historical Association, the house was entirely remodeled yet still holds the nostalgia of old world seafaring charm.
This Colonial era home built in 1747 offers a wonderful Nantucket getaway combining old warm charm with modern day amenities. Throughout the home you will find lovely historical details like the exposed timber beams, American clay walls, and distressed wide plank Oak hardwood floors.
There are two entrances, with off street parking for two sedan sized cars. Enter off Union street or from the side patio that is adjacent to the kitchen. The garden has an abundance of beach grasses, Hydrangea, Roses and potted plants with lounge chairs and shaded outside dining for 6. There is a storage shed complete with beach toys, and boogie boards for family fun and a gas BBQ grille. Shower off sand and sun in the wonderful outdoor shower.
There is central AC through out the home with additional fans available in the upstairs bedrooms. The light filled distressed Oak eat-in kitchen is fully stocked, ready for gourmet meals.
Off the kitchen you will find a cozy den/family room with fireplace, TV and stereo. The doors off both entrances into the kitchen and living room close for added privacy. The formal living room is a wonderful place to gather with ample seating for everyone and cupboards filled with game boards and puzzles for rainy day or evening activities.
There is a downstairs guest bath with shower and a stackable laundry unit just off the kitchen.
Upstairs are three bright bedrooms. There are two guests rooms with four single beds that share a full sized, dual vanity guest bathroom. The stunning Master Suite has a queen size bed, two full size closets, and a cathedral ceiling with exposed timber beams and ambient lighting. The Master Bath has a full size tub, shower and dual vanity.
The home is walking distance to Nantucket's historical downtown where you will find world class restaurants, fabulous boutiques, cobblestone streets and historic sites. The dozens of island beaches are accessible by car. The famous 56 Union restaurant is just a few streets over and offers world class dinners or the perfect after dinner spot to grab a local cocktail.
