This is the place if you want be totally alone in a house steeped in history. Much of the inventory is historically and intact. A mini museum. Close by the house runs a river where you can fish small trout, and there are several nice waterfalls close by. Hiking trails up the mountain starts just 200 m from the house, and there are many different routes and peaks. It is 700m to the port, where the boats are. Distance to nearest house and the host is about 500m. You can drive your car to the house

Other things to note

You get more out of your trip if you bring your raincoats and waterproof boots with you. At times very wet you know. Outdoor shoes are not desirable used indoors. In your rental rate there is a low fee (15 Euro) to prepare beds and wash sheets and towels after use. In order to keep rental rates and fees as low as possible, I expect you to leave the apartment as clean and neat as when you arrived. There is no dining area for 9 people to eat in the same room. But the kitchen and dining area are close.

This place is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet retreat. You’re surrounded by woods, lakes and waterfalls. We spent three days and didn’t have enough time to explore everything we would have liked. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at the house in the woods. Helena and Knut were excellent hosts very easy to reach and communicated well. The house it self is kept like a living museam you feel like you step back in time as you explore all the family photos on display, original furniture and basic amenities. Very quiet deep in the countryside. Great place to explore with access to walks in the wood and a boat to row in the lake. Lots of wildlife to watch including 2 freindly cows in the field within the grounds. I reccomend highly and would visit again.

Nice contact. We enjoy the place. Using the boat was great and the information given by Knut for visiting around was perfect. Living in this house is like a Travel Time.

It's as if you are thrown back in time about 50 years ago. The house is very cosy decorated with vintage furniture. I even think it's the original furniture. The fir e place is nice and warm. We want to thank Knut for the warm welcome and we highly recommand this place.

Such an awesome place. Far from everything while at the same time being close to so much! It has a special charm, really feels like a museum, a home away from home. Borrowed the boat which is close by at the lake, swam in the waterfall/river and enjoyed how calm it all was. Yes it is wet in the woods surrounding the house, but with hiking boots it is not really a problem There were also rubber shoes to borrow which could come in handy. I would highly recommend this place!

What a beautiful house! We stayed here with our two year old son. The interiour is indeed vintage and we liked it. The kitchen is cozy and fully equiped. Near the house we borrowed the boot for a very nice trip. The stairs to the bathroom is steep, the bathroom itself is not luxuries but has everything you need and the shower was warm, what else do you need ;) In our stay the wifi didn't work properly. We hope to come back sometimes. We fully recommend this place. Especially if you love old houses as we do.
