This is the place if you want be totally alone in a house steeped in history. Much of the inventory is historically and intact. A mini museum. Close by the house runs a river where you can fish small trout, and there are several nice waterfalls close by. Hiking trails up the mountain starts just 200 m from the house, and there are many different routes and peaks. It is 700m to the port, where the boats are. Distance to nearest house and the host is about 500m. You can drive your car to the house

To get to the bathroom and toilet you have to go down a steep staircase to the basement of the house. Standars in the bathroom is low.

The house off the beaten track is the only house along the entire 10 km long river from the mountains. The water is clean and drinkable. The water flow varies by how much there is raining. With 2-3 days of sun, temperatures can reach 23 degrees in the afternoon. In every natural pool, there are small trout. The chance to meet other people along the river is small.
Scandinavia is far to the north. Norway and Western Norway is famous for its breathtaking scenery and spectacular fjords.
The closest major airport is Bergen Airport. On the island of Stord is also a small airport with daily flights to and from Oslo.

Middle of the island consists of wild mountain areas, with peaks of up to 750 meters above sea level with beautiful views. Anyway, fishing is most popular. There are a lot of small and big lakes. These are tied together with waterfalls, rivers and streams, all full of small trout. Everyone can fish all over and completely for free. Please bring with yourself fishing rod for use in the mountain lakes. Some guests have actually caught 110 trouts in some few days. The fishing season is from May to October. If the winter is cold enough and safe ice on the lake, ice fishing for arctic char is been popular.
You will receive a map to guide upon arrival, where the trails are marked. You can get advice from the landlord about recommended trips depending on how experienced hiker you are. There is plenty of water in the area, you know, boots are recommended. Much blueberries in the area, cranberries and opportunity to find chanterelle.
The area has large and fascinating climatic variations during the year. In winter, temperatures can go down to minus 15, it may be snow, and mountain lakes are frozen. On hot summer days around 30 degrees plus, and the water in the rivers and lakes, can have a nice bath temperature of over 23 degrees after a few sunny days.
Anyway, the area is known for a lot of precipitation in the form of rain. Rainwear recommended.
Also light varies. In winter there is daylight only 6-7 hours, in summer 18 to 19 hours.

Boats in the harbor can be borrowed for free. This is a lake, and there are trout, arctic char and some salmon. Normal fish size is 200g, and you can fish for free.

Other things to note
You get more out of your trip if you bring your raincoats and waterproof boots with you. At times very wet you know. Outdoor shoes are not desirable used indoors. In your rental rate there is a low fee (15 Euro) to prepare beds and wash sheets and towels after use. In order to keep rental rates and fees as low as possible, I expect you to leave the apartment as clean and neat as when you arrived. There is no dining area for 9 people to eat in the same room. But the kitchen and dining area are close.
