A designers boutique luxury suite in the heart of Gastown where celebrities and designers have stayed. Based on a Scandinavian modern aesthetic, this modern unit uses Tom Dixon lights, metals and warm leather tones to make you feel comfortable in the space. Riedel glassware design plates, and pieces from my travels fill this space while local art takes over the walls. This unit is ideal for two but can fit up to four with the premium double height queen blow up mattress.

Good place in a great location. Easy to check in and out. My only complaint is that Ryan canceled the last day of our reservation on very short notice, just the evening before check in, and since the WiFi didn't work at his place we racked up a pretty big international data phone bill dealing with Airbnb and looking for a new place. If Ryan hadn't canceled so last minute and the WiFi worked the place would have perfect.

They have low communication. When I sent the mail, they might reply after two weeks. They were irresponsible as they cancelled my booking within several hours before my arrival of Vancouver. When I noticed their cancelation, I was perplexed cos it was night time and I was the first time to Vancouver. Many hotels and apartments were full at that time, Though the airbnb manager has provided me the links of finding another apartment, it was no use as many of them were full that night. At last I had to find a hotel which was the double of my original price of renting their apartment. The refund could not covered my loss and it was unfair that I had to pay higher price that I planned. If they wanted to cancelled my booking, they should tell me before several days so that I could have time to find another one. I had contacted them several days before my departure but they had no replies. When they sent the cancelation mail, I was on the plane. How can I find another apartment immediately? It was unbelievable! It was also first time of using the airbnb servic. It really gave me a bad impression.

We were pretty disappointed with the overall experience. Probably won't do another AirBNB for a long time. Very poor communication. When I finally heard back from him about check-in details it was the night before my trip, at which point I was told that the unit I booked was under construction! He said I would be upgraded to a larger unit in the same building. It was very disappointing. Nothing "Luxury" about it, as advertised. And absolutely no internet box in that apartment, even though I was told over the phone that there was. The area is conveniently located to where we were spending our time, however right outside the apartment door is quite sketchy. I would have been too scared to be there alone. This was a hostel style apartment, except without any fun group areas.

Ryan/Sam (still unsure of who I was even communicating with) did not reach out to me at all before my trip, and when I arrived, I was sent instructions to go to a nearby grocery store to pick up the key. It wasn't quite check in time, but I wanted to be able to store my bag. Ryan/Sam said that I could pick up the key and store my bag while the cleaning person cleaned the condo, but the cleaning person had already picked up the key and no one answered the door, so I wasn't able to leave my bag. I texted Ryan/Sam several times about this with no response. The grocery store clerk suggested I get something to eat and come back in a bit to see if the key was ready, which I did. When I came back, he said Ryan had been by while I was away, yet Ryan didn't text me to let me know he was coming by nor did he leave a key for me, so thankfully the grocery clerk let me store my bag with him for a few hours until the key was available. The strangest part of this was that the cleaning person then came a day early to clean the condo assuming I had checked out...which means she had a separate key to begin with and didn't need the one I was picking up. Let me be clear, I’m not upset I wasn’t able to check in early. Check in was just frustrating because I couldn’t get a response from the host, he didn’t communicate he had come by while I was at lunch, the cleaning person had a separate key and didn’t need that one anyway, and since she came a day early to clean at the end of my trip, that means Ryan/Sam didn't communicate the dates of my stay with her. I also wasn’t even sure I was in the right place when I checked in because the name on the building directory doesn’t match Ryan or Sam, but I couldn’t get a response from them about this. It's also just weird having to go to a secondary location to pick up a key if you don’t know that ahead of time. Another thing that bugged me is that Ryan/Sam didn't describe the neighborhood at all. Personally, I loved Gastown, and I didn’t feel unsafe there, but I do think an explanation would be nice. I was a little worried when I first arrived because the taxi driver kept telling me what a bad part of town it is. The gentrification is blatant, and although I really enjoyed getting to know this part of town, someone else who isn't from a large city might be surprised seeing junkies shoot up in the street. Gastown has a ton of cool restaurants and bars, and is very vegan/vegetarian-friendly which I loved, but it is a very noisy area. There's no A/C in the condo so I opened the...

Ryan and Sam's place was perfect. I forgot to message them before I arrived in Vancouver and they were so kind to help me check-in so late at night. Thank you for the wonderful stay and I wish we could have stayed longer!
