Our King Guest Room is roomy with a king size bed and a bathroom directly across the hall. Morning coffee is just steps away in the kitchen. Your room is on the opposite side of the house from ours so you will have plenty of privacy.
The farm seems to be what draws our guests the most. Chickens, guineas, a horse, calves, dogs and cats... occasionally we branch off into other stock as well, but with only 3.5 acres... it is definitely a "hobby farm".
Guests have access to the bathroom across the hall, the kitchen, dining room and living room. Outside, the front porch, yard and farmyard are here for your enjoyment as well.
Interaction with guests
We love to interact with our guests, to the degree they are comfortable with.
Other things to note
In and around Johnson City we are blessed with many things to do. Wineries and vineyards abound because we are in the midst of the "Tuscany Valley of Texas", as well as the Lyndon B Johnson visitor center, boyhood home, Texas White House and park, Hill Country Science Mill, Lights Spectacular-Hill Country Style (Nov 25th-Jan 5th), antique shops, art galleries, and much more!
This bedroom is on the ground floor...where we are. We expect our guests to feel at home and also respect our space.
Michael and I are long time residents of Johnson City, TX, which is a small community in the Texas Hill Country, about an hour west of Austin or north of San Antonio, on the way to either the Highland Lakes or Fredericksburg. We have a small farm on the west edge of town with chickens, guineas, and a few goats, and a gorgeous back yard full of huge live oak trees. We love any excuse to sit in the swing and visit for a while. We enjoy meeting new people and have hosted many friends and our large extended family for many years in our comfortable farmhouse. In addition to the Writer's Cabin, we have two beautiful bedrooms we love to share with travelers to our area, for a night or two, or an extended stay. Michael is from Louisiana and really loves to cook and keep our yard beautiful. I run an insurance business from home (downstairs) and enjoy sewing, cross-stitching, and walking (3 miles a day). We are low key and love kids and animals and nature in just about any form. We would love to get to know YOU, too!
