A quiet wooded getaway 25 minutes from Missoula. Our 10 acres border public land, offering instant access to thousands of acres for exploration. We are less than 2 miles from Blackfoot River access and only about 15 minutes from the new Kettlehouse Amphitheater!
Located in the beautiful Potomac Valley, our home is very peaceful and quiet. We live on 10 wooded acres bordering public land which provide endless hiking opportunities from the back door! The property is just 5 minutes from the Johnsrud boat launch on the Blackfoot, and 15 minutes to Lubrecth Experimental Forest. We are 25 minutes from Missoula, and 30 minutes to Seeley Lake. There are a few other families who live close by, but far enough away that you can't hear or really see them. You will enjoy daily interactions with our resident deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional bunny.
Our home is about 2200 square feet, with plenty of space for family gatherings. Three out of the four bedrooms offer comfortable king size beds, and the fourth has a comfy queen.
Though we imagine guests will spend most of their time taking in views from the huge deck, there are also two comfortable living rooms and a "happy hour" lounge with a dual sided wood fireplace in which to relax. Please note there is not cell phone service at our place, however if you are an IPhone user with a newer model, it is possible to both text and make calls via the WiFi. We do not have cable or satellite TV, but you can access Netflix, Amazon, etc. using our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Chromecast or Amazon Fire stick.
There is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and possibly even your boat!
We have wifi, wildlife viewing, ample parking for boat trailers, washer and dryer, gas BBQ, outdoor space heater to enjoy sunsets and sunrise during cooler times, and oh, did we mention hiking out of the backdoor? We also have a fireplace and/or outdoor fire pit that may be available for use (depending on fire danger). When the weather is nice, there will be a horseshoe pit setup, and bocce ball!
Interaction with guests
We will most likely be heading out on our own adventure, but will either provide very clear instructions on getting to the property or meet you on site to show you around. We try to always be available by phone if we are away, but will make sure you have an emergency contact in the event we are in the backcountry.
In the past we have been Superhosts, but we lost our status when we moved and had a baby, haha. That being said, we will do anything in our power to make sure your stay is amazing! If you need something, please let us know.
Other things to note
We do share our home with two cattle dogs and a yellow kitty. Please do keep that in mind if you have allergies.
Please treat our place like your own beloved home and clean up after yourselves. This is our home, and we love it. There are a couple young families in the neighborhood, so although we invite you to enjoy the backyard on warm Montana evenings, please be respectful. We have good relationships with our neighbors and would like to keep it that way! Absolutely no smoking in the house, or on the property. Please keep in mind that we do live in the middle of the forest, so use of the fire pit may be limited by the weather. Please no hunting on the property, they are more like pets to us than wild animals!
