Our place is close to Bar Harbor (40 miles) and Bangor (20 minutes). We have amazing technical mountain bike trails (outside the back door) with the option of guided daily adventures. We are on Brewer Lake with amazing sunsets! (outside the front door and just a short walk) Great fishing, swimming and kayaking! Also, you can take advantage of the summer concert series in the evenings and American Folk Festival in August. Great for couples, group adventurers, and families (with kids).

The space

Our home has 3 private bedrooms and a loft. The additional sleeping areas are uniquely built in and have privacy curtains. There is a wonderful great room with great natural light and an accommodating screened in porch. Additional sleeping areas could utilize both comfortable sofas if you have more than 12 guests.

Interaction with guests

Joe is an experienced mountain biker who is available to lead groups on day hikes or biking excursions. There are endless opportunities and amazingly beautiful sights to see!

Other things to note

Enjoy your evenings around the fire pit toasting marshmallows and creating memories.
We have a septic system, so please be mindful of not to use too much TP. Thanks!

WOW, what a place. A beautifully built and decorated home. All the amenities are top notch. We had 3 families and 12 people staying without issue or crowding. The bedrooms are spacious and the common loft area beds are perfect for the kids. The screen porch is a perfect getaway to spend the evenings listening to the loons or an early morning maybe catching a glimpse of the fox while having coffee. Then as the day goes on you can spend time at, or on, the water at the lake. They have a private dock to relax and catch some sun or paddle around on the kayaks they allowed us to use. If you are a biking enthusiast, they have spent a lot of time building miles of trails up behind the house. They were a little above our novice level, but were great to take a hike on. A large firepit allowed a wind down of the day while toasting smores and marshmallows provided during our stay. It is a short trek to Acadia to see the many picturesque sites offered there. You can also go to the shops and walk around downtown Bangor. The hosts provided a recommended list of places to eat and were right on with Masons’ (Craft Brews) and McLaughlin’s (Seafood) on a small Marina. You won’t be disappointed by the house or responsiveness of the hosts.

This lovely home is set in a forest on Brewer Lake. While there is not really a lake view, the lake is a short walk down the hill. Their dock is on a nice sized cove with kayaks available to explore this large and lovely lake. There was even a pair of nesting loons nearby. What a wonderful way to go to sleep with loon song on the air. The house is very attractive and is great for outdoor living. The screened in porch was so inviting and comfortable. There is also a fire pit and a large yard for games. The large kitchen worked well for our group of 11. There was no dining table, but we made do with the counter chairs and comfy chairs on the screened porch. The bedroom/bed arrangement was a little unusual but again it was very workable with everyone sleeping well and having good space to themselves. Our hosts were very helpful and kind. We only had a couple of hiccups and the hosts promptly took care of them. They gave us a tour of the property before they left and made sure that all questions were answered. Joe even guided the bikers and runners in the family through the challenging trails above the house. I strongly recommend this property for a peaceful vacation.
