Fairlie is ‘The Gateway to the Mackenzie Country’! Come, relax and enjoy mountain views and some good old Fairlie hospitality!

‘Denmark Downs’ is situated off the main road and backs onto a small farm. The fully fenced house and grounds are spacious and perfect for families and large groups. There is ample off street parking for boats and cars, and storage sheds for skis/bikes etc. A cot and highchair is available for use if required. There is a gas Barbecue.

The space
A fully equipped kitchen; fridge, electric stove, microwave, electric fry pan, rice cooker etc.
Separate dining room, a large table with seating for 8 people.
Lounge has a log fire, TV, lounge suite and 2 arm chairs, with a fully stocked bookcase.
Bedroom 1 – Queen Bed (with electric blanket) with free standing antique wardrobe (sleeps 2). Hair dryer.
Bedroom 2 – Queen Bed (with electric blanket) with free standing antique wardrobe (sleeps 2). Hairdryer.
Bedroom 3 – Large Single bedroom (accessed via Bedroom 2), 1 Single bed with electric blanket and trundler bed, ( ideal for children)
Bedroom 4 - Large Single bedroom (accessed via bedrooms 2 and 3 but also has external access, 2 single beds (with electric blanket) (sleeps 2)
Hairdryer.
The bathroom has a hand basin, toilet and shower.
Cot and highchair available upon request.
Washing machine and dryer in the laundry with an extra toilet, clothesline outside. BBQ available - speak to the host. Access to freezer.
Come and enjoy the night sky (away from city lights). Whatever your reason is for visiting Fairlie, whether it be skiing or boating at Lake Opuha – it is definitely worth a visit!

Fairlie is perfectly situated being close to 3 ski fields (Mt Dobson, Roundhill, Fox Peak), Lake Opuha and Lake Tekapo for those who enjoy boating/water skiing and the Tekapo Canals for fishing. Timaru is a 45 minute drive, Tekapo approx. 35 minutes, Geraldine approx. 30 minutes. There are many opportunities for walking, tramping and biking in the area. The main street of Fairlie is only a 5 minute walk from the house.

Other attractions: Community Swimming Pool (indoor, heated, October - March), Transport Museum, Mabel Binney Cottage, Alpaca Farm, Glencairn Golf Course. Village green play area.

Other things to note
The house has wifi installed. There is also free wifi available at Eat Cafe and Bar, or the telephone booth outside the Fairlie Hotel, on the main street.

Hot water is limited, so if you have a large party please be mindful of this. There is only one shower so allow time if you are a large group.

Fairlie has a range of eateries, cafes and our famous pie shop.
The alpaca shop and farm and the transport museum and Mabel Binney cottage are well worth a visit.
Children are well catered for with a play area beside the Camping ground and on the village green on the main street. All walking distance from the Denmark Downs.
