About this listing
Our property is in a primarily residential neighborhood but across the street is The Pillars Events Center. Our decor is Victorian and our property is completely modern in its systems.
This building is plan #143 by Architect George Franklin Barber and was built in 1892. Today all systems have been updated to exceed local codes and are thoroughly modern. Each guest room has its own private bath and the Rose Room features a whirlpool tub for two with shower above in its bath. All millwork and original art glass windows and special architectural features have been maintained faithfully for your visual pleasure.
In addition to your chosen room, you will have access to our several commons areas, dining room and wraparound porch and grounds. Because we are an attended boutique hotel, the kitchen is for staff use only. There are many, very reasonable restaurants located here.
Interaction with guests
We will attempt to answer your every question but to allow you as much privacy as you desire.
Other things to note
We must collect and remit 11% state and local lodging tax to the proper authorities.
Myrna is a retired high school classroom teacher of 28 years and Joe is retired from having a specialty spray painting business for 20 years. This is a second career for both of us. We moved back home to watch over aging parents and did this on a whim in 1993 and it has become a smashing success.
We like to travel and have good assistants which allows us to get away from time to time.
Reviews show that our guests have enjoyed their stay in our property since 1994. We are friendly, attentive to our guests and strive to provide the finest of lodging and lodging experience for our guests given what we have to work with.
