The space - Clean house, comfy bed, lots of storage. Not a lot of soul and not very homely, evident that it is not a family home from one step in the door. Kitchen was great, everything you need; plates, cutlery, pots and pans. Host even helps with the washing up though I suspect…

Response from Thomas:
Louie is a young lad who is ill-manner and uncivilized and behaves badly. During his stay here, he behaved not like a normal person, certainly not like most of my other airbnb guests. He behaved like an ASBO teenager late at night when he played his games online, making loud noises which disturbed neighbors. He did not care for others. He was a dishonest and deceitful character, as he was caught red handed stealing other people’s properties (one time he stole another airbnb guest’s kitchen foil; another time he stole my washing powder). He thinks those are just little things that he can take advantage of other people without their permission. I told him not to behave like that again, though he apologized at the time, he did it again later. He has no morals. As to the point of “You must pay to wash your clothes”, this is a house rule that was stated in the airbnb advert, and he accepted it when he made the booking. This rule was put in there precisely to prevent someone like Louie to abuse the system. In the end, he did abuse it : He used the washing machine and clothes dryer stealthily without paying (and stealing my washing powder again) the very last time the day before his departure. I only found out as he left a couple of his socks behind in there. This kind of behavior is tantamount to stealing. As to the point of “helping him with washing up”, yes, he was partly right in saying so, because he did not wash the dishes and pans properly, which meant I had to wash them again anyway. So I offered to wash them for him. He admitted I helped him, but he was ungrateful. He has no heart. As to the point of the bedroom having no lock, he knew when he made the booking that it is a family home, and not a hotel or hostel. He should ask himself the question: dose his parents home have locks on bedrooms? Is it normal to have locks on bedrooms in private homes? If he expects that, he should go away and book a room in a hotel or hostel. He is not suited to be an airbnb guest. Putting him up for 10 weeks and trying to be nice to him at the same time really tested one’s patience. So, from his bad behavior during his stay in my home, and the fact I criticized his bad behavior, I am not surprised to see he wrote a revengeful and disgruntled review here. Almost all my other guests wrote good reviews about their personal experience of staying in my house, Louie was the only one who was an anormale. I would not accept his booking any more, and I would not recommend him to other airbnb hosts.

A lovely quite neighbourhood close to birchwood park. Thomas is an extremely helpful and friendly host, with a spotlessly clean home, with use of the kitchen for meals. A 10 minute walk from the office this such a convenient location. A proper home from home.

I love travelling around Europe where I enjoy my long holidays and short city breaks. I have been to numerous places in a conventional way, and now I want to experience a different kind of travelling by meeting the locals and seeing things from the locals perspective. That is why…
