Having never been to the Tucson area before, and traveling down to consider a MOVE to the area, we looked at literally 100's of places to stay. This was my first Air BB stay (we host) and I was a little nervous. The Black Arrow Hideaway ended up being perfect in more ways than I could even put into a review. Melanie and Hardy are the warmest, easiest, and most comfortable people to talk to and be around. At the same time, they have a knack for only being around if you WANT to talk to them. We enjoyed their beautiful backyard and pool as if it were our own place. I would have loved to have had them come and visit a bit more, but suspect that it is important to them that their guests enjoy privacy. We found that the location could not have been better for everything we wanted to accomplish and see. It felt very easy to get around and central to everything. Nothing was far at all. And yet, while at the hideaway, we felt like we were on our own desert island. The place was clean and there was all kinds of snacks and starter items. Be sure to read the notebook Melanie put together immediately because Melanie thought of everything and you will wish you had. Also, don't be afraid to look in drawers etc because you will find just about anything you may suddenly need (i.e. a Cholla Cactus Comb, flashlight, tape etc.) We will stay here again on our next visit as I can't imagine anything else would even come close to this special place. Thank you so much Melanie and Hardy!

Comfortable, relaxing stay in a beautiful area. The home was very comfortable and tastefully designed with southwest themes throughout. Situated in a quiet scenic area on the outskirts of Tucson. Perfect setting for those seeking peace and quiet, without traveling long distances from the airport. Thanks to our hosts for being available to answer our questions while at the same time mindful of our desire for privacy.

When you’re in Arizona and wanting an easy home base, you will find it at Black Arrow Hideaway. A short drive from Phoenix that will take you in to the eastern Rincon Mountain District. The AirBnB in Marana is on the north edge of the Saguaro National Park has views of Twin Peak mountain and the cactus of this desert environment. There’s just enough western memorabilia to transport you to the early days when the west was won, and Melanie and Hardy’s hospitality will make you think you are visiting a good friend’s oasis home. Like returning after a hike to the National Park when you leave the heat and enter the cool calming living space; following the shade around the patio at a number of pleasant outdoor ‘rooms’; grilling your dinner while stargazing; taking a dip in the pool; blending up a margarita. One striking characteristic that we especially enjoyed was the sound of the desert, no road noise, and many birds tempted into the yard to enjoy the bird feeders and a chase with Listo the dog. As you can tell by this review we had a fantastic experience at the Black Arrow Hideaway and hope to return again-thanks Melanie and Hardy!

The Black Arrow Hideaway is a treasure located on the outskirts of Tucson. Our entire experience was fabulous and friendly. Booking our stay was super easy, taking minimal effort. It was very easy to find the hideaway with the help of Melanie’s directions. Located in a mature desert setting with an amazing view of the mountains and night sky and of course adjacent to the Saguaro National Park the hideaway has a relaxed southwestern theme and is super clean. The indoor living area had everything we needed to prepare small meals and not feel like we had to go out to eat all the time. There were many comfortable places to sit and relax both inside and out. The outdoor kitchen area was delightful and allowed us to grill three of the four nights during our stay. Sunsets over the mountains and desert were gorgeous. The small refrigerator had plenty of room for keeping food and drink cold and had a reusable ice pack to use in the small cooler allowing us to pack a lunch and keep it cool throughout the day. The fresh fruit, snacks and drinks were an added unexpected plus. The bedroom was very comfortable, private and cozy with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We hiked to the national park from the property and observed lots of birds and wildlife. Our intent was not to have a rigid schedule of what we wanted to do or experience and this setting allowed us to do just that. It was the perfect place for a getaway and Melanie and Hardy were very welcoming and respectful of our privacy. They offered exceptionally helpful insights and local knowledge of things to do around the area. Can’t say enough about our experience at Black Arrow Hideaway - it was great! We look forward to visiting again in the future. Tim and Pat

Melanie and Hardy were fabulous hosts! They thought of everything - I pulled into the driveway to a personalized "welcome to our home sign". There were refreshments, fresh fruit and snacks available. Music was playing in the background inside the accommodations. Their casita (little home) is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was perfect for my business trip -- a sanctuary to come back to at the end of meetings. Every day, Melanie checked in (by text), to see if there was anything I needed. They are the perfect hosts -- I had the privacy I had hoped for, with the availability of hosts if I had any needs. I do recommend checking in during daylight if at all possible -- it's tucked back from the main road - in fact, Melanie recommended that as well. I fully intend to return and enjoy this desert sanctuary again!

Where to start? There are so many positive attributes in describing Melanie's place! The cozy hideaway is impeccably decorated with southwest decor, antiques, and attention to detail is evident everywhere in the apartment. It is cozy, comfortable and exudes an ambiance that just makes you feel good to be there. It is very well equipped with everything you could ever possibly need or want. Apple TV, snacks, breakfast foods, candy by the bedside, kitchen utensils to make simple meals, tourist information for the area and beyond, reading materials, toiletries, the list goes on...Melanie also stocked the fridge with all kinds of goodies. The bedroom is truly a sanctuary with a queen sized ultra comfortable bed, luxury linens and a view out the window that will knock your socks off; cactus, birds, flowers and the beauty of the desert. The property which we had full access to was drop dead gorgeous! A beautiful pool, many sitting areas amidst lush cactus and flowers and a full outdoor kitchen with grill and all you need to prepare a full meal. One of best parts? Their property backs up to Saguaro National Park with endless hiking trails and beauty that abounds everywhere. We especially liked the beautiful little chapel on the side of the mountain just behind their home. Melanie and Hardy were quintessential hosts, made sure we had everything we needed and provided a warm welcome at every turn. We could not have been happier. Our only regret was that we had to leave! We wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Melanie and Hardy for sharing your hospitality and beautiful home with us. It was truly one of our more memorable vacations!
