Welcome to this spacious & comfortable downtown Toronto townhouse. You'll have your private bathroom right next to your bedroom plus access to the shared living & dining areas. Lots to see & do right around here - according to Vogue magazine, this is one of the coolest 'hoods in the world! And when you want to roam farther, you'll be close to transit. Come see!

The space

Guests call it an "oasis" in the middle of all the action! Strategically located between Queen and King streetcar lines, near the trendy Ossington St. strip, you'll easily access the best of Toronto - culture, restaurants, events, shopping & sightseeing. For a single person or a couple, you'll know you're in Toronto when you see your view of the CN Tower, right from your comfortable full size bed!

Your sunny bedroom includes seating, a small computer desk and lots of drawer space. You'll even find bathrobes and slippers in the closet for your convenience. You have a remote control 3-speed ceiling fan and dimmable light, to customize temperature and light to your own preference

Your private full size bathroom with combo shower/tub is immediately adjacent to your room. One guest said it was the "cleanest bathroom in Toronto"!

Your home-away will be both a great launching point for your adventures in the city, and a welcome retreat at the end of your busy day in Toronto.

Guest access

Guests have access to:
- Wi-Fi
- Coffee and Tea (LOTS of teas to choose from!)
- "Great Room" with kitchen, dining and lounge area in front of a gas fireplace - perfect for winter months!
- "Living Room" with television. Cable, Netflix and Crave TV channels to keep you entertained and informed.
- Street parking with permit (available online) or nearby covered parking (not too expensive)
- We can talk about fridge, kitchen and laundry facilities, which can be made available on occasion.

Interaction with guests

I work mostly from my home office, I'm in & out, with an irregular schedule. (BTW, your accommodations are on the same floor as my bedroom and office, so privacy is achieved via closing doors. If you're planning a rowdy and/or romantic getaway, this might not be the most comfortable option.) Love hosting through airbnb, and meeting my guests. Happy to give you as much privacy, or as much support as you need. Happy to help you find theatre, restaurants, walking, sightseeing and other activities that this city has to offer.

Other things to note

I DO NOT CHARGE A CLEANING FEE BUT I AM OBLIGED TO COLLECT AND PAY FEDERAL/PROVINCIAL SALES TAX OF 13%. As the AirBnB system cannot process this, you can pay me directly when you arrive. It is calculated on the amount of your booking, excluding fees. I WILL CONFIRM THE AMOUNT WHEN YOU BOOK. (The tax is NOT required on stays of over 30 days.)
Also, please note, the bedroom is at the top of 2 1/2 flights of stairs, so you'll want to ensure you are comfortable with the ups & downs, especially when handling your luggage. ,
And your pet dog is potentially welcome, we can talk about that too!

I had a fabulous time at Janine's place and cannot recommend her highly enough. She has a lovely cozy home in a great neighbourhood, is very warm and welcoming and makes you feel as if you're staying with an old friend. The Airbnb experience as it should be! Thank you Janine and all the best.

Our stay at Janine's went grate. Her house is really cozy, super clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was also super clean and the bath was a pleasure to use. Moreover, Janine took care every morning of preparing a complete breakfast for us. Recommended.

Janine was a lovely, caring host who was easy to communicate with. She has really worked to ensure her guests have what they need before they realize they need it. The listing was very accurate, the area was easy to get around with many nearby options for food. Two things to be aware of that may affect your stay: there are 2 flights of stairs to get to the room, and the bed is quite firm (I was quite comfortable though, and also appreciated that she provided both softer and firmer pillows). In addition, something I thought was exceptional: the first night I stayed, she checked in with me when I was unexpectedly quite late returning. As a woman travelling alone, I very much appreciated that she cared enough to do that. Thanks again for a great stay!

Response from Janine:
Thanks, Sara! I have recently added the note about the 2nd floor bedroom to my listing, you are right, people should be forewarned! Thanks for staying here.

Great location to the west of downtown Toronto. Located at a safe and great neighborhood. A couple blocks away from the hip Queen street filled with restaurants and bars. The room was a great value. The bathroom was clean. Janine ensured breakfast items (fruits, yogurt, bars) were ready in the morning and offered her nespresso and tea appliances.

Her home is very nice and in a prime location - lots of great shops and restaurants and there's a nice park nearby as well. Really enjoyed my stay.

I've been lucky to travel to a good number of wonderful places, near and far, including Turkey, the South Pacific and Asia. Now, I enjoy meeting other local and international travellers, as an airbnb host!

I work out of my home, so I'll likely be around much of the time. If there's a soundtrack to my life (and my home), it moves from jazz to pop/rock to classical. But what you're most likely to hear playing in the house is CBC Radio One.

This neighbourhood is a great area for city living. Happy to share maps, recommendations and ideas with you.
