Escape to this tiny treehouse in the woods, 4kms from Whale Bay and 12kms from Raglan. Disconnect and recharge. Live simply. Breathe in nature. Experience off-the-grid living and take a break from technology. The treehouse is set up in the pines on our 35 acre property and has an amazing view over pasture, native bush and the ocean. This is an escape from the everyday. It's for young romantics (at heart), the adventurous. Bring your gumboots to stomp around. Sleeps 2-3.

The space
Enjoy a romantic getaway with the special person in your life in this very special place.

The treehouse is built up in the pine trees on our 35 acre property and has an amazing view over pasture, native bush and the ocean. It’s for young romantics (at heart), and adventurous types who want a special experience, not just accommodation.

Follow us @TinyHouseEscapesRaglan for notifications on cancellations if the dates you want are not available.

Our rate is all inclusive (except for Airbnb service fee).

PLEASE NOTE: This is a treehouse, built up (and amongst) the pine trees. If it is windy, the trees will creak around you. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about windy weather. The treehouse foundations have been built to the specifications of a Registered Structural Engineer and the treehouse has full consent from Council, so the building is safe.

Inside there is:
• A small, fully equipped kitchen with sink and gas cooktop.
• A beautiful and clean bathroom with hot shower and flushing toilet.
• A comfy built in couch that can be used for snuggling (or an extra guest).
• A queen-sized futon bed in the upstairs loft (with luxury bed linen) with an amazing view out a window to the ocean. We put two duvets on the bed for winter so it’s extra warm and snugly.
• Plenty of battery powered LED lights, and a gas heater for chilly nights (please note the treehouse is fully insulated).
• A chilly bin (Cool Stool) to help keep your food and drinks cold.

Outside, there is:
• A large deck with a small table, deck chairs and a BBQ for outdoor dining and relaxing.

We supply:
• Morning Glory organic coffee, tea and sugar, olive oil
• All bed linen, towels, dish cloths, and cleaning products.
• Ecostore NZ shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash
• Candles, magazines and books.
• Bug spray to keep the bugs away
• A detox from technology, if you choose to, there is no mobile coverage at the treehouse but you can connect to WIFI at some spots from the treehouse.
• A UE Bluetooth speaker to listen to your downloaded tunes.

ADVENTUROUS THINGS:
There are lots of adventurous things you can do whilst with us and we've left a few ideas for you in the treehouse. One of these things is a beautiful bush/stream walk (on our property) down towards the cliff/ocean, to a huge old Puriri tree where you can have a picnic. You’ll walk through the field, then through native bush and down to the stream, past a waterfall and then to the Picnic tree. The walk will take you 10-15 mins to get there and it’s a moderate level with downhill/uphill sections. It’s beautiful so we recommend giving it a go. If you want to do this then please bring some gumboots or suitable walking shoes.

Guest access
You're welcome to take walks around the entire property. We recommend taking our bush walk to our picnic tree. Bring your gumboots or suitable footwear.

Other things to note
- We have 10 acres of pine forest at the top of the land, and 10 acres of bush on the bottom border. You can feel free to walk the entire property.
- There are no power outlets at the treehouse however we provide a Power Bank for you to charge your USB or Micro USB devices.
- You can also check your email and/or charge your electronics at our main house which is about 800 metres further down the property.
- You may bring one pet along (if you check with us first). You’ll need to make sure that all pet hair and waste etc is removed on leaving.
- We have two mountain bikes available to rent if you’d like to do some exploring while you’re here. There is also a great mountain bike track just near the beach in town.
- Please bring your own drinking water. You can fill up with filtered water at our house.
- Please bring some ice and/or ice packs for the chilly bins. We have spare ice packs at the house.
- Sometimes we allow one night bookings at the last minute for an additional $30 fee for the night, please inquire if you would like to do this.

Hi, we're Tara & Guillaume and we've created three gorgeous little tiny houses that we rent to couples who are looking for an escape from their everyday lives. Our property is called Kokomea and this translates to Sunset Glow in Te Reo Māori. We chose this name for our 35 acre piece of coastal paradise near Raglan, NZ because our land gets every last drop of sun until it sets in the evening and the sunsets are amazing. Experience what it’s like to live off-the-grid in a tiny house nestled in nature. Take time to rest and unplug from your everyday with a special person in your life. Stop, breathe fresh air, relax and revive. Whale Bay is located 8kms outside of Raglan in New Zealand. It's one of Raglan's world famous surf breaks and a popular spot for surfers and tourists alike. Our secluded spot is just 4kms from Whale Bay and 5kms from Manu Bay. We hope to meet you soon!
