About this listing

Cool, Chill & Convenient in Kaimuki is a private room with a private bathroom.

The space

If you're looking for a real Hawaii get away...consider our beautiful and comfortable home in Kaimuki with your own private bathroom! Our 2nd floor 3 bedroom plantation style home is located in a residential neighborhood with some Diamond Head and ocean views. We have beautiful sunny mornings, fantastic sunsets and even a double rainbow every now and then, The space is very breezy with LOTS AND LOTS of sunlight.
We also have kitchen space for some food storage and light meal prep (microwave/sandwiches/cereal etc). The house has wireless internet so you can facetime with all your friends and make them SUPER jealous that you're in Hawaii;)
We are a quick walk down hill from lots of YUMMY restaurants along Waialae Avenue. There are 42 restaurants within a 15 minute walk!! Kaimuki is a funky, friendly and chill neighborhood with lots of cool folks walking around at all hours of the day. Whether it's for their morning jog or taking their kids out for a nice stroll in the early evening. The neighborhood is VERY safe, with a Walk Score of 83. We are close to the University of Hawaii and Chaminade University. Our place is a great way for you to get to know the neighborhood.

We are also VERY close to the bus line should you choose to go that route (see what I just did there?;)) We are out of the craziness of Waikiki, but only a few miles away from it all.

We are chill, down to earth folks who like to be social, but will also leave you be if you choose to meditate for your entire trip. My husband and I are both Physical Therapists. He is originally from Australia and I am originally from Canada. We enjoy traveling and the outdoors, but like coming home and unwinding in front of the television with a good music documentary after a long day of working. We are more of a small craft beer house then a keg stand joint. Our house is nice and neat and homey:) If you're looking for a party house...this is probably not the best choice for you. We like to keep the noise down late at night out of respect for our neighbors and downstairs tenant.

Check out our photos and feel free to shoot us a message if you have any questions. Hope to hang with you in Hawaii soon! Aloha

I arrived late to check in at Alison's place. Her and her husband, Martin were there to greet me upon arrival. Their place is a classic Hawaiian bungalow. The accommodations were clean and extremely accessible to the city and beaches. it was a pleasurable stay with Aloha spirit.

This was a fun and chill place with great hosts Alison and Martin. The neighborhood is funky and cool. It is a short walk down to Waialae Ave, which has great food and coffee options. Alison and Martin pointed us in the right direction. I was traveling with my brother and it was comfortable staying in the room with only one bed but plenty of space. We were able to hike Diamond Head the morning of our departure and still make our flight because of the convenient location. There is also a bus stop nearby so I think that would be an option for our next visit.

You will find Alison and Martin to be very gracious, interesting and knowledgeable hosts. They know a lot about the Hawaiian islands, are very aware of the local culture, the people and the sights. Their location is quite central and a short walk from the delightful little community of Kaimuki. All in all, a good home away from home which we know you will enjoy.

I was delighted with my stay at Cool, Chill and Convenient in Kaimuki. Alison and Martin were kind and generous hosts. Accommodations were excellent. We felt the light use of the kitchen was more than satisfactory, and there were many restaurants in the neighbourhood to satisfy all tastes. The location in Honolulu was excellent as I was able to bus to all sight seeing points. A wonderful stay and I received great tips on the island of Hawaii, the big isle, which is my next stop.

Alison and Martin were just amazing. Their place was in a neat little area called Kaimuki. I stayed in the Waikiki area my first few days so it was great to be able to get out of the touristy area and stay somewhere quiet and hip. Loved the neighborhood, lots of shops and restaurants right down the hill from their house. The house was clean and the room and private bathroom were tidy and cozy. Alison and Martin were so great to chat with- especially if you like musicals! Alison was even kind enough to give me a ride to Ala Moana one day on her way to work. Their place is perfect if you want somewhere quiet and convenient!
