Welcome to our private farm just a short walk from the historic Gallon House Covered Bridge. Stay one night or many. We rent out the master suite, so you will have the bedroom (with iComfort adjustable queen-size bed), bathroom, large living/dining room, deck, and property all to yourself. We will pamper you with individualized service and a farm-fresh breakfast. We offer you a romantic, peaceful setting, nestled in the trees with views of our natural pond, pastures, and garden.
Enjoy a roomy, serene setting in harmony with the natural world. From your bedroom window, you will view large oak trees, fir trees, and cedars that surround the property. Out in your living area, you will have views of the pond that hosts all sorts of wildlife including ducks, heron, and other occasional "swimmers". Birds of all breeds enjoy life here, depending on the season. Some of my favorites include red-headed woodpeckers, western tanagers, cedar waxwings, kingfisher, owls, flickers, and hummingbirds. We sometimes see bald eagles and osprey. We raise a primitive breed of sheep as well as some chickens. We have a spotting scope and binoculars for you on the back deck.
As you enjoy your breakfast and other leisure time, you can take in the western pond view from inside or watch the birds, farm animals, wildlife, and sunset from our comfortable covered back deck or gazebo.
Interaction with guests
We will remain onsite during your stay, but respect your privacy. We are generally hands-off, but should you need anything, we will be available to assist.
Other things to note
We have wi-fi and digital antennae local television. We are a small working farm, so there are animals including barn cats, sheep and free-range chickens on the property and one small dog who lives inside our house.
Smoking permitted in designated outdoor areas.
My husband I are very cool, especially considering how "old" we are. He just retired from his rock band and we have a full recording studio in our basement. I just retired from my professional career with Oregon State Parks. I have enjoyed extensive travel into the nooks and crannies of Oregon and Washington, as well as other parts of the U.S. and the U.K. We are excited to start our new "careers" which include running our small farm and hosting travelers at our Bed and Breakfast. We think our home and property are very special and we want to share.
