Beautiful three bedroom beach house in friendly community near Cape Point. The house overlooks one of the most beautiful beaches in the Cape Town area. Surrounded by Cape Point National Park, there are stunning views in all directions. The area is a well-known spot for surfing, bicycling, hiking and kite-surfing. Or just curl up with a good book and unwind! A friendly restaurant and shop provides a focal point for the local community.

The space

The property is a three bedroom, two bathroom house that can comfortably sleep eight, utilizing an expandable day bed in the living area. With vaulted ceilings, white walls and tasteful décor, the house offers open plan living, and enjoys views over the beach and the surrounding mountains. Balconies at the front of the house on the upper and lower levels allow guests to enjoy the well-tended garden and stunning sunsets over the sea. The house has a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living area and a wood burning stove for chilly winter evenings. There is high speed Wifi access, washer/dryer facilities and secure, off-street parking.

Guest access

Located in the southern peninsula, approximately 40 minutes outside Cape Town city centre, the house is convenient to Cape Point National Park, Simon’s Town and Boulder’s Beach, surfing at Muizenberg, restaurants and shops in Kalk Bay and Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive and the Cape Point vineyard in Noordhoek. A perfect place for sunsets and long walks on the beach, but also within easy reach of Cape Town and its many attractions. The Constantia vineyards are a short trip away by car and the Stellenbosch vineyards are also within easy reach as half- or full-day excursions. Whale watching and shark diving excursions can be booked in Simon’s Town and surfing lessons can be arranged in nearby Muizenberg.

What a beautiful bright clean beach house we visited with children and parents . It had everything we needed and more. The house is equipped with everything one could ask for, even a Nespresso coffee Machine. Beautiful view from the balcony and the sunset is breat taking , location was perfect. We took our bike with and had great bike rides to Chapmans peak. Greta was a great host the agents were very accommodating We will be sure to visit again .

Wow - what a perfect getaway spot. The house is a refined bungalow with three bedrooms downstairs (ground floor) and a fourth bed upstairs, if needed. The upstairs is all light and air. It is open architecture with the kitchen, dinning room and living room connected creating a sense of openness. The furniture is comfortable. There are decks both upstairs and downstairs off two of the bedrooms. The place has first quality kitchenware, knives, pot and pans, etc. Wifi was fine. Everything else worked as expected. The house is in easy walking distance (5-10 min) to an incredible beach - big and open. It is also a short walk to the small town center - two/three small crafty cafes - that have supplies, a couple of restaurants, fresh baked breads and excellent coffee. By car it is easy to explore the cape and its seaside towns, though if you were seeking some time in Cape Town itself, i recommend finding a place there.

Well appointed interior spaces work beautifully; Upper level open plan living space ideal for viewing the sea whilst cooking and relaxing (can be a bit dazzling on a hot afternoon, but blinds can be rolled down on all sides); Lower bedroom level is cooler, cozy and more private- (remember to bring mosquito repellent ) Wood paneled master bathroom shower is especially luxurious after a day at the beach

My mom and I recently stayed in Greta's beach cottage for 10 days following my knee surgery. It was the perfect place to rest and recover. Being able to take in the views of Scarborough, the quietness of the neighbourhood and the exquisite sunsets, I didn't even need to leave the house to feel like I was on holiday and to feel like I was a part of this unique place. My mom loved being able to walk down to the beach and to the little stores on the main road. Communication was great and check-in and check-out were seamless. Highly recommended :)

A great house in a tremendous location about 40 min south of Cape Town. I can't say enough good things about the chilled-out little "eco" village of Scarborough. My family and I enjoyed the location as we were looking to be away from the crowds and major tourist areas but still have easy access to quiet beaches, wine country, National Parks, and Cape Town--this place delivers. Greta and her manager Kim were wonderful hosts, the house is very comfortable with ocean and mountain views, and our kids loved the garden/yard and easy access to the beach. Would definitely go back.
