I've always loved Northern Ontario. I have 6 children all grown up now and the youngest is now 24 years old...oh my how the time flies!
When the kids were young I took them camping in Algonquin Park in all 4 season. Yes, including the winter we stayed in Yurts. The canoes at the cabin were made for my kids when they were much younger.
Now that the kids have all moved out I felt it was a perfect time for me to focus on my dreams. And from that dream my lodge was created. I purchased the property with the old log cabin...now called Barbies Bunkie. I completely renovated it and then also built the little Moose Lodge cabin and also the large Off the Grid cabin. I stayed in a tent during the process. Talk about commitment lol
Anyway, I worked as my own contractor and hired and supervised the trades as my dream was being built.
I have recently created a new road off the main one and I'm building new cabins repurposing shipping containers. Ill even be putting a gym in one of the air conditioned containers. Oh, the plans I have!
I hope that you enjoy your stay at the lodge as much as I do. Don't forget to get out at night and look up at the stars in the Northern sky.....they are truly spectacular. And during the day please be sure to look for moose in the pond and for their prints on the ground all around the property. They actually walk near the cabins late at night :))))
My sincerest wish, for you, is that you come and find what you were looking for- whether it be the wilderness, the hiking, the peacefulness, or just time to reconnect with friends and family. Its all here at .....Algonquin Moose Lodge
