Overall, our stay was a mix of up and downs. Our host had completely forgotten abouday of arrival leading her husband to then frantically "clean" the area we would be staying in. Luckily, our host was able to change the sheets in the bedroom and the husband changed the towels but no dusting, brooming or garbage was taken out/done.
The floor is also quite thin, so be prepared to hear footsteps.
Not to mention, the dead bugs/cobwebs that were under the kitchen table that are also mentioned in the previous review of this location therefore meaning hosts hasn't broomed in who knows how long. For those who will be staying in the future, I broomed the dead bugs as well as the little carpet in front of entrance.
Please also note they have shower flies which when researched let me know their drains were dirty.
We also encountered a nice little cockroach in the bathroom one morning that we thought was dead. Upon trying to throw it out, it began moving. This leads me to believe that there are more either hiding in the basement apartment or it came from upstairs.
One of the more peculiar problems, our hosts disappeared the Friday of our week of arrival. Now, we don't expect them to tell us where they're going, however, if something would have happened how would we have known how to take care of it considering it is not our house. Basically, we could have completely abused of this situation and stayed way longer than check out time considering they werent even home to double check.
On the plus side, apartment was about a 15 minute drive to DC, 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarket and parking was always readily available. The mini fridge was bigger than we expected and were able to fit plenty of groceries in it. The kitchen was also equipped with plenty of utensils, plates a pot and pan, as well as salt, pepper, and EVOO.
For the future guest, we left a bottle of wine for you as you'll need it to muster up all the courage to kill the amount of bugs we didnt.
