It does snow at the cabin! And we are amongst the trees.

This perfectly located cabin is ideal for peaceful time away from cell phones, computers and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Take a hike in High Sierras to see the giant redwoods in the National Monument and the Trail of 100 Giants or fish the Tule River. We are not in the National Parks so there are no crowds.

The space

The living room is perfect for family time, watching a movie, playing games or enjoying the fireplace.

You will enjoy the queen pillow top mattresses for a restful sleep after your long hike amongst the beautiful sequoias. The bedrooms are located at either end of the cabin each with their own bathroom making this ideal for couples or families with children.

The kitchen is fully equipped for your convenience and the dining room will seat six so you can invite friends for dinner.

We provide all the needed fresh and crisp linens for your stay so you don't have to fill your car with extra items. We even provide a washer and dryer for your convenience.

The back deck is private and peaceful while the large front deck boast views of Slate Mountain. We have a propane BBQ for steaks that always taste better in the mountains. The front has a nice firepit for roasting marshmallows and stargazing.

The mountain does not have cell service and our cabin does not have wifi. This is truly a respite from the fast paced electronic world. Unplug, unwind and recharge.

Guest access

We have a lock box on the door and the code will be provided before the stay. This allows check in times to be flexible late in the evening.

Interaction with guests

This cabin is very private and on a spacious area of land. You will enjoy feeling like you own a slice of the mountain.

I am always available by phone, email, text or when I'm in the area I'm happy to answer any questions. I also have an excellent housekeeper who is available for any issues that may arise.

Other things to note

Our cabin is NOT in the National Parks. We. Are located in the National Monument, about a two hour drive due to the mountain roads.

We have a wonderful housekeeper who prides herself on making your stay in our cabin clean.

We have sleds for the kids for that snowy day, fishing poles in case you decide to fish, blu ray player for that must watch movie.

We do not provide wifi and there is no cell service on the mountain. Be sure to print out the provided directions as GPS will not work nor will you be able to access the directions via cell.

This cabin is perfect for a peaceful getaway. We enjoyed having the tavern just a short walk away. The windy road up wasnt nearny as bad as people complained about. Youre heading up a mountain, so im not sure wbat people expect. Not one complaint about this airbnb experience. Thanks Lisa.

Lisa's cabin was perfect for a romantic getaway from the city. We stayed two nights and wish we had had more time to enjoy the cabin and the forest. The fireplace was perfect for a cozy evening with a glass of wine or two. Lisa provided very helpful information about directions and local grocery store options (definitely pick up some steaks!) and the cabin had a binder with maps and hiking information. All in all we had a great stay and are definitely coming back again, next time hopefully for longer!

Just Wow!!! The night sky was amazing. We saw couple falling stars. It was very quiet and very comfortable. I would recommend this to friends and family. Thank you Lisa for a great time.

Lisa's cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Remote but not primitive. The small town of Camp Nelson made it easy to get forgotten necessities. The view was amazing, so we spent a lot of time on the patio! Hiking trails were plentiful, and Lisa provides a notebook full of information on them and other things to do in the area. We would recommend bringing your own perishable food items and spices, but check in at the cabin before purchasing things like trash bags, foil, detergent, paper towels, and such since many folks, like us, leave behind leftovers to be used by others.

Lisa's front deck offers a great view overlooking Camp Nelson, with a view to Slate Mountain. A back sitting area offers great night views of the stars! The furniture in the living room is very comfortable as was the bed I slept in. Also a great claw foot tub to soak in after a days hike. I was there at a quiet time, right before Mountain Music Festival, during crowded weekends may not be so quiet.

Lisa's cabin in Camp Nelson is amazing and one of the loveliest AirBnBs I have experienced. I recommend staying a week or two - but even if you can only be there for 2 nights, which is all the time we had - then it's well worth the drive.

I have been in the rental housing industry my whole life. My parents had my brother, sister and I cleaning rentals almost as soon as we could walk. I expanded into vacation rentals because I love to travel and like the experience of staying in neighborhoods to feel the local flav…
