Our guest suite is a great option for a family, two couples, etc looking for a base while they enjoy skiing at Apex Mountain in the winter, wine tasting in the summer, or just relaxing at a home away from home. We stock your fridge with a self serve breakfast of cereal, fruit, juice, toast, coffee tea + more. There's plenty of space to be private or social with your own separate entrance and also interior access to our kitchen and living space. We look forward to meeting you!

The space

Our home is tucked away behind some large cedars and a big walnut tree near Downtown Penticton. Your guest suite is spacious and private with a separate entrance, kitchenette and lots of space to spread out and relax. The living space fronts on our back garden and there's plenty of opportunity to catch some sun, BBQ, roast some marshmallows, etc. Our living space is upstairs, and the two suites are connected by interior stairs. You are always welcome to come on up and share our space, a cup of tea or glass of wine, or ask for advice and travel tips any time of day.

Guest access

The kitchenette in your suite is good for basic cooking (pasta, salads, breakfast, grilling on the BBQ, heating up restaurant leftovers), and if you want to get creative with your cookery and local ingredients, we welcome you to share ours.

Laundry is shared and you are welcome to use it anytime.

We are a family of three (our daughter is 4 and a half), so while we offer you a perfectly clean welcome, our portion of the house remains well "lived in," But, of course, we do our best : ) The floors are well soundproofed.

There's plenty of parking, and if you come with bikes, skis and other "toys," we have a locked garage where you can store your things.

Interaction with guests

I am self employed and work mostly from home and my husband just sold his restaurant of the past 6 years and will be heading back to school to learn some new trades. Both of us are around most evenings, and sometimes our friends drop by too. They don't bite.

Other things to note

We have two cats who roam freely around the house. Let us know if that's a problem and we will see to it that they don't wander your way.

Awesome space which is filled with cool stuff (old books, magazines and a turn table). The beds were super comfy and the breakfast goodies were a great touch. Although the place was a bit hard to find when we arrived, it is actually conveniently located. The hosts are very welcoming.

We met with family to stay together here, it was more than roomy enough for the for of us and our very large dog. The yard was private however not enclosed. The trails are close by but be ready for stairs! Downtown was a hop skip and a jump away and both Lindsay and Michael were very helpful if we needed to find anything. All in all a great visit. Most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in!

Really nice and spacious suite close to downtown and the Okanagan lake. Communication and check-in were super easy. Lindsay and her family are great hosts. We'd definitely stay again.

We are a young(ish) family of three who have recently moved from Vancouver, BC to the Okanagan -- and we are LOVING IT! We have been hosting with Airbnb for almost 4 years now in addition to running a small BBQ restaurant in New Westminster, BC.

My education and training lies in Forest Resource Management and Hospitality Studies (read wine snob) and my husband, Michael, is a chef by day and jack of all trades by night. Our daughter specializes in "style" and "Harry Potter."

We have loved meeting people and sharing our lives with travellers so we have bought a home in Penticton, BC to turn into a bed and breakfast. We'll be renovating over the next year or so as we make the transition and we hope to see you along the way.
