Hey there! Make yourself feel like home in my cozy Penthouse apartment located downtown right in the city center. All the best restaurants, bars, cafés and museums are just outside your doorstep.

The space

A private apartment in a historical house, perfectly located in the center of Reykjavik. The studio includes comfortable queen size bed.

Well equipped kitchen with kitchen stove and oven.

The bathroom include toilet washbasin and shower

Included in the price is bed linens, towels and hair dryer.

There is a Parking house 5 min walk from the apartment.

Guest access

Basically you have the whole apartment, you can cook, hang out in the livingroom, etc …. Guest can expect to have a friendly, home atmosphere.

Interaction with guests

I can assist with information and questions regarding what to do and where to go for nature, activities, food, drinks etc. I can also help the guests with bookings for activities and things to do in Reykjavik / Iceland.

Other things to note

I like to point out that there is no washing machine in the apartment. But there is a laundromat coffee shop in a 2 minutes walk which has washing machines and dryers for a fair price.

Iceland has one of the purest natures and cleanest water in the world. It is safe to drink the water straight from the tab.

The hot water in Iceland tends to have a sulfur smell which smells like boiled eggs. You may notice this so don't worry, it is normal. That smell is because of the geothermal heating.

The currency in Iceland is Icelandic Krona (ISK). At some places you can pay with Euro but you can pay with ISK anywhere. There is absolutely no need to have ISK in hand before you arrive in Iceland. Debit/credit cards are widely accepted and they are also used to pay small amounts. There are ATM's on the airport and throughout Iceland. The exchange rate is pretty much the same an all ATM´s.

Icelandic electrical standards are European (50Hz, 220 volts) so many North American electrical devices will require voltage converters. You can buy a voltage converter at the Keflavík airport or at electronic specialty stores before you head off to Iceland.

Central location close to all the nightlife, shops, and restaurants in town. Nice space to crash after a day out exploring Iceland. If you're looking for something I'm the heart of the town this is the place to be. Aesgir was great and super friendly and offered good tips (including YouTube videos!) on things to do. There is a kitchenette with a microwave, utensils, and fridge. It appears the apartment is in high demand because people were checking out the same day we arrived; unfortunately this resulted in there being no linens, towels, or toilet paper for several hours after we checked in. The shower isn't the best and had issues draining. Also there is no wifi, but we were able to connect to the wifi of one of the shops on the street level. You can easily find parking on the street or in a parking garage which is appx 5 minutes from the apartment. It was good for our group since we did not spend much time in the apartment but wanted something centrally located. Overall it was a positive experience and we liked Aesgir's place!

If you're a first-timer to Iceland Asgeir is your man. When traveling to a new country, having a trusted source of info who is responsive at all times is a huge bonus and Asgeir fits the profile. The apartment is exactly as described from a size standpoint. Iceland tends to be expensive however Asgeir's place has the essentials that helped us save on meals. Some of the essentials include: oven, microwave, sink, stove, oven, fridge, french press, bowls, plates, etc. The location is also right downtown! You can walk to nearly everything exciting in Iceland from the apartment including several local grocery and convenience stores. The one thing we'll warn is that if you have a small family or like to retire early, you might be kept up by the general noisiness of being right downtown. There is a bar that shares a wall with the apartment which can get loud. However, if you're staying downtown anywhere this is to be expected!

Asgeir was a very good, accommodating host and was always available to answer our questions before and during our stay. He even left us beers in the fridge to welcome us. The flat is basic but clean and brilliantly located. If you book any coach tours ask to be picked up at Centre Hotel Plaza which is across the road. Although there’s no WI-FI, there are a couple of places nearby whose WI-FI connection you can pick up from the flat.
