Located on a quiet, well-lit street in a secure family compound, the casita is just a flat, eight-minute walk from one of San Miguel's busiest and most diverse shopping/restaurant streets, Ancha San Antonio. You will have your own private entrance to this very special little house—and you are welcome to share our spacious patio with its spectacular view of San Miguel and its famed churches.

The space

The casita is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker so you can make use of those tasty leftovers and keep your fresh-squeezed juice icy-cold. The room features a very comfortable single sleigh bed with a brand-new mattress and fresh, clean linens—and a shower with a view (not to mention plenty of hot, pressurized water)! An electric oil-filled radiator (along with a down comforter) will keep you warm on chilly nights, and a ceiling fan will cool you on warmer days. There's also WI-FI (we recently installed a range extender which has greatly improved the signal strength) and cable TV that includes both US and Mexican channels. Linens are changed weekly. No laundry available on site, but a laundry service is two blocks away.

Guest access

The casita is separate from the main house. Two spacious patios with spectacular views of San Miguel de Allende are just outside your door.

Interaction with guests

My husband Larry and I have lived in our San Miguel home for the past 12 years. He is a retired poet and teacher, and I spend most of my time in my quilting studio, also located in the compound.

We welcome travelers with small dogs—our large, friendly dog Sox will be sure to make you and your pup feel at home!

Other things to note

We look forward to greeting you soon and sharing our knowledge of this magical city. Welcome to San Miguel!

A VERY beautiful home in a VERY beautiful city. If this home is available, you will not regret staying here. We stayed for 3 night. The bedroom has amazing views overlooking the city and the room is extremely comfortable and cozy. Stephanie and her husband were very great hosts. It has a private balcony that extends off the bedroom as well. Very safe and quiet neighborhood.

Staying with Stephanie, Larry and Sox was such a wonderful introduction to this beautiful city. They could not have been more welcoming and accomodating. The casita and the rest of the home/property are so pretty and offer everything a traveler could possibly need. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance and the view of Centro from the rooftop is amazing. I highly recommend this casita for solo travelers!

Stephanie's casita is a charming, gorgeous, and comfortable space offering many creature comforts and all you need once you arrive. You will find a comfortable bed in a beautifully decorated one-room configuration with en suite bathroom, TV with some English-language channels, and equipped for basic cooking. Good air flow and plenty of water for showering, which she is in the midst of perfecting and ensuring I was comfortable. Stephanie provided coffee, sugar, milk, juices -- and even instant oatmeal. Very responsive and kind in answering my many questions. I had all the privacy I hoped for and the support for my explorations. She and her husband Larry, together with their gentlemanly dog Sox, generously gave of themselves to ensure I enjoyed every minute in SMA, that I understood the community, and could take advantage of all it offers -- which is a lot. The location is at the end of a residential street which was surprisingly quiet for an urban Mexico over the four days I was there. Their property has a breathtaking view of SMA and mature garden spaces which they kindly share with you. Close by are a laundry service and a small tienda, as well as a number of upscale and everyday restaurants. And much more. Highly recommended!

One thing I enjoy about AirBnB is that I can have a unique and personal experience with each stay. This was definitely the case at Stephanie's. Stepping through the metal door from the simple street was like entering a sanctuary. The inner courtyard was beautiful and peaceful, and provided a great view over the city. The room was simple, eclectic, and had everything I needed, and meeting Stephanie was a delight. I am very glad I chose her place to stay.

I have been to San Miguel De Allende and rented numerous times from Airbnb and this was the best ever. Stephanie made me feel like family and helped with local information on many topics I needed information on. Rent this if available!!

I really enjoyed staying at Stephanie's place. It was "cozy" but more than adequate for 1 person. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was in a relatively quiet neighbourhood (the nearest rooster was quite far away!). There is a spectacular patio with a wonderful view of the town. Location is good. I have some mobility issues but was able to walk to Centro. Stephanie leaves a handy "tip sheet" and map so that I was able to find my way around without too many problems. She also provided some munchies and wonderful Mexican coffee. Their dog, Sox, is wonderful. I had to leave my dog at home and Sox was a great substitute. My only "issue" is that the wifi signal was sometimes quite weak from inside the casita, but the signal was stronger on the patio. I would definitely stay there again.

Hi! My husband, Larry, and I retired to San Miguel de Allende about 12 years ago. Larry is a retired poet and teacher and I'm a fabric artist and spend my days in my studio. We have a gentleman dog, Sox, who was born and raised on our street. We love sharing the beauty and charm…
