Great place to stay if you want low-budget South Beach location. Great garden with a pool where is life in the evening!

I stayed 5 nights at Freehand and it was amazing. The employees are genuinely nice and helpful, the place is colourful, vibrant and comfortable. Although the price of the food at their snack-bar is pricey (I payed 10$ US for a small basket of grilled brocolis) the drinks are very affordable and creative! Grocery 30 sec walk, restaurants and beach walking distance. To go downtown, the best is to use uber pool (Very Cheap 2-4$/trip). The hotel/hostel is great and I would surely recommend this place in a heartbeat and go back there for vacation!

Convenient hostel if you want to have a cheap stay at Miami Beach. Great cocktail bar and very close to the beach! I would most likely stay at this place again if I return to Miami.

Freehand was a great place to stray! Had a shared quad room and enjoyed meeting new people. The decor was fantastic and unlike any other hotel I had stayed in. Very laid back vibe. Loved the pool atmosphere and the daily punch/cocktail special each day.

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and honestly, Freehand Miami set the bar pretty high. There are so many great amenities, the staff is extremely friendly, the environment is fun, our room was fairly clean, and the beach is literally two blocks away (5 minute walk max). They offered free classes for yoga/salsa dancing on certain days, there was a kitchen to store/make food, and I was able to rent items like towels/beach chairs from the hostel for free. I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a "quiet" getaway because the Broken Shaker bar is literally attached to the hostel so there is music playing from 10a-2am every day (bring earplugs or live up the nights Miami style?). The lockers in the room do not come with a lock so you have to bring your own, even though everyone staying there had a very chill vibe and I did not feel unsafe traveling as a solo female at any point during my stay. Wifi is spotty, but there is a starbucks a block away. I don't recommend renting a car while staying here because Uber is super cheap in this area/parking is a nightmare around the hostel (and you have to pay for it). I will absolutely stay here next time I am in Miami Beach.
