The rooms we rent out are in a lovely colonial-style residence, located in Miramar, in the borough of Playa, one of Havana's best neighborhoods. We are six blocks from the ocean and from Cuba's national aquarium.
We have number of hotels and prominent shopping centers nearby. We are a recognized legal entity in this country, so guests enjoy complete safety. The person who will attend to your daily needs is the house's owner. Her name is Nenita, and that's where the name of this lodging, Villa Nenita, comes from.

The space

Our lodging is distinguished by its comfortable rooms, as well as its excellent food service at breakfast, which consists of a wide variety of food items that have been Cuban from the very beginning.
In fact, we have four bedrooms with room for nine people, but we only include these basic facts because we like to provide privacy and independence to our guests. If you arrive as part of a group of travelers, we can rent you these four bedrooms, should that be what you desire. Payment is calculated on a per-room basis. (One of the rooms has, in addition to a double bed and a single bed, a crib for a baby.)

Guest access

Travelers will have free access to the entire house with the exception of the bedroom and bathroom belonging to the owner. We have a taxi service (which is not included in the price) to various tourist destinations such as Viñales, Las Terrazas and Zoroa — which are located in the west of the country, in the province of Pinar del Rio —
Trinidad — which is located in the country's central region, in the province of Cienfuegos —
and Varadero, which is also located in the country's central region, in the province of Matanzas. These taxis belong to the house, so guests can have confidence in them and feel completely safe.

Interaction with guests

In our lodging, our guests are given complete independence, but we are completely at their service should they need us. Our duty is to look out for the safety of our guests and to guarantee them a pleasant stay with the finest service.

Other things to note

Important information: we charge per room, not per guest. This is to say that we have a room equipped for 2 adults and another equipped for 2 adults and a child. If the guest who makes the reservation arrives with another person and wishes to make use of additional rooms, the second guest must pay the cost of the other room on a nightly basis for however long their reservation lasts. Of course, this rule does not apply to 2 adults who wish to share a room.
(We also have four rooms with space for 9 people who arrive as a group, be they family or friends. CUC 45 per room per night. An excellent breakfast is included in the price of the room, and we remind you that the price of our promotions is calculated per room, not per guest. If you are interested in this second promotion, please send a message to confirm availability before making your reservation. Thank you.

This home was totally lovely, as was its host. Mayte served fantastic breakfasts. The room and facilities were beautiful and comfortable. The neighborhood is not centrally located, but we found ourselves taking long walks around to look at incredible architecture. There are also several really great restaurants nearby, so it was actually quite nice to have a Havana experience off of the tourist-beaten path. Glad we saved this for the last leg of our trip and it would be a pleasure to stay here again!

This place was pretty much what the other guests wrote. I had not used AirBnB before nor stayed in a B&B in Cuba so didn't know what to expect. Email and text communication before stay was extremely helpful and timely, including telling me what to expect at the airport for the pickup we requested - a definite plus. Wasn't a classic American car but they say it was a classic Russian one ... And if it's Alberto, be advised he will talk fast and furious in Spanish. Check in was great, pleasantly greeted by Nenita, bags taken upstairs by Alberto, he even changed cash so avoided the long lines at the airport. Room was ready and clean. We were lucky that an American was just about to leave so she helped us a lot in learning about the place (given the language difficulty), the neighborhood, and Havana in general. No internet or maps so be prepared otherwise. Otherwise, stay was great. Very nice people, breakfast (too) big. Beautiful house and furniture. Another plus of the house is the lovely full garden that provided a lot of shade and cool during the hot days. Evenings were cool with the windows open - can you believe no mosquitoes or roaches! We did use A/C on a couple of nights. We were allowed to use the fridges downstairs and Nenita even made room for our stuffs. One pleasant surprise was the hummingbird nesting on the patio. The shower head in one bathroom did stop working after 2 nights and we had to use the other one. Hope it gets fixed since, unfortunately, not everything gets fixed (e.g., we learned from another guest that a toilet seat was missing and so it was!). It was a pleasant stay, nice house, great hosts and we would do it again if they would have us again.

Mayte's place is amazing. The home itself is beautiful with solid wood doors and trim, soaring ceilings and gorgeous furniture. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the large and lush courtyard. Breakfast was the best of any we had on our trip and presented on lovely china at formal dining table. The entire family treated us with warmth and kindness. Staying here felt more like visiting a favorite relative whose goal was to make you feel welcome.

I really enjoyed my stay here and the villa is airy and charming. The house is in Municipal Plaja and is a 15 - 20 minute taxi ride from some of the more central locations. Conveniently, they have an in-house taxi that can take you places if it's not too late at night. Nenita herself is an absolute angel, cooking us breakfast every morning and treating us in every interaction with that characteristic Cuban warmth. She made our stay feel like home.

Villa Nenita is an older home in a safe neighborhood of Havana. It is not close to most of the attractions you may want to see, but Ray is always willing to give you a ride, for a fee, and they were always helpful with information or calling for taxis. No English is spoken here, but love and kindness are. The furniture is authentically reminiscent of the 50s, the wood arched doorways and tiled floors added richness to our stay. Hot water is sporadic, beds are comfortable, meals are substantial. Our hostess Nenita was as kind as you could wish anyone to be, and won our hearts. Be sure to try to Italian restaurant around the corner. It was some of the best food we had in all of Cuba.
