Enjoy your visit to Portland in this cute, open-floor plan 1950s one-story home in the lovely Woodlawn neighborhood.

Within a block you'll find the local and very popular Breakside Brewery, Woodlawn coffee shop, a park with movies during the summer. Walk just a few more blocks and you'll find great restaurants including FireHouse and Tamale Boy, and more.

Quick access to the rest of Stumptown!

The space

This one bedroom plus one movie/napping room has hardwood floors throughout. The living room has a wood-burning fireplace, and connects to the kitchen equipped with a gas range. The bedroom has a natural latex queen bed, closet and an empty dresser for longer stays. The 2nd room has a large sectional (great for naps), large flat screen TV with DVD player and Apple TV Netflix and YouTube (no cable). The medium-sized weedy backyard has a deck with a table and chairs — a great spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and bask in the sun (if it's out). Free wi-fi, of course.

On-street parking on this quiet street, but just around the blocks are full Portland culture with a brewery, 6 restaurants (and counting), coffee shop and lovely parks within walking distance.

Fast access to major streets and highways and downtown, and quick trip to the airport.

I provide a bookshelf full of guidebooks and maps for you to plan adventures downtown, west to the coast or east into the GORGEous gorge!

Guest access

Guests have access to pretty much anything they would need during their stay, including wifi and basement with super basic laundry. This is my home, so please respect personal belongings which are mainly out of sight and not for use.

Interaction with guests

I only offer my home up when I'm traveling, so our paths probably won't cross. If they do, I'm happy to say hello and help you feel more at home!

Other things to note

Just want to note that there is no A/C, dishwasher, microwave, or regular TV, but there is Apple TV (Netflix, YouTube, PBS), zero-frills washer/dryer, wifi and gas range, coffee grinder, blender and juicer.

Absolutely adorable, clean, and trendiest place you will find. I spent several hours just looking at the cool decorations and thinking about how efficiently everything was on this space. Great neighborhood. I was by myself and felt safe to sit on the front porch at midnight. Close to some great food and easy to catch the buys to town. I want to move there in my mind

Martha's home has style and character! We loved the artistic feel and comfortable setting. Martha is an excellent communicator and was super understanding when an injury kept me from tidying up like I normally would have. If I end up needing to rent in PDX again, I will definitely be checking in here.

My stay at Martha's house was really wonderful. The house is adorable and has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Portland. I enjoyed relaxing in the living room on the big red couch and I slept well, as Martha's bed is super comfortable. I actually wish I got to sleep in a bit more. :) The location is great, especially if you have a car rental, it was really quick to get to all the places I needed to get to. The house was quiet and clean and I can't recommend it enough.

We stayed here for a week as first-time tourists visiting Portland and had a wonderful trip. Martha made us feel very welcome and responded to us any time we had a question, although not much came up. The listing is completely accurate, the place is spacious and has a cool vibe. The back yard is nice. The neighborhood is great--we had at first wanted to stay in "downtown" Portland but were grateful we wound up staying here in NE Portland instead. It's super easy to get anywhere with a rental car and it's a lot nicer than downtown in my opinion. There are a bunch of great places right around the corner including a beautiful coffee shop, pizzeria, gelateria and Mexican place (check out Tamale Boy's outdoor space), and then some of the more active 'hoods (Alberta, Mississippi, Hawthorne, 23rd-21st St, etc) are only a 5-15 drive away.

Martha's place was awesome. It's a cozy little place with a lot of personality. Close to a few good bars and coffee shops, and located so that it's easy enough to get around and see the rest of Portland. 10 / 10 would stay there again.

Welcome! I'm a busy self-employed professional that enjoys outdoor adventures in this Pacific Northwest wonderland. I like listing my home on AirBnb when I'm away so others can enjoy this great launching spot for the Stumptown experience.
Enjoy your trip here!
