A private, curtained "guest room" in the living room of our apartment. It is not walled. We sleep in a separate bedroom. Our street level apt is across is nearby Union Square, NYU, bars, restaurants, museums and shops. You’ll love our place because of the location, the coziness, and the cleanliness. Our place is good for solo adventurers, and business travelers. Our place is bad for guests who need full-service concierges. Just a low-key, very clean place to lodge and sleep in a great 'hood.
A ground floor apartment in the East Village across from a park.
Please note we have a small cat. He doesn't scratch, bite or sit on laps. He mostly sleeps but he might come say hello to you. We are both allergic so we double down on the cleaning!
There is a real twin bed in the curtained guest space with a large window. The space has an air-conditioner in summer.
You have access to your windowed, curtained bedroom--the apt windows are frosted for privacy, but let in great light.
You also have access to the living room with TV/Roku/Netflix/Hulu/HBO, the bathroom and the building entrance to our apartment.
You are welcome to use our glasses for water or to make some coffee/tea. If you want to store a few snacks that's okay too. However, we ask that you avoid cooking in the apartment and take advantage of the wide array of amazing restaurants, diners, cafes and other incredible food options of the East Village! Of course feel free to order delivery to our place as well.
Interaction with guests
My wife and I stay in the apartment for the entire time while all of our guests stay. However, we are out of the house a good deal and, as mentioned, we sleep in a separate bedroom.
We both work full-time--occasionally from home. We are friendly people and happy to answer your questions, but also understand how to give you space and privacy.
Guests of all countries, size, shape, color, creed, orientation, and identities are welcome here!
ALLERGY ALERT We have a 9lb, 5 year old neutered cat. He doesn't scratch or bite. He may come say hello, but will generally leave you alone. Please never let him outside. We are actually both allergic to cats (I know.) and therefore keep the apartment doubly clean because of him.
Other things to note
The following notes are based on actual experiences with guests. We wouldn't want to have to write such strict rules in our ad, but we have learned we must. We are sure you will be a good and conscientious guest like so many of our others!
-CHECKOUT IS AT 10AM. We want you to feel welcome but, we have had a lot of difficulty with people staying after checkout time. We need time to prepare the space for the next guest.
Please make us aware of your travel details--we need to know when you are arriving and leaving. Please don't just vanish with our keys on your check-out day after your check-out deadline.
Please don't leave all of the doors to our apt unlocked when you check-out.
Please understand that we are happy to help you and give you suggestions, but we cannot do things like call hotels or restaurants to make reservations for you.
We live on the ground floor. People will walk by the apartment at times and you can hear their conversations. It is not overly noisy, but if you are a light sleeper this might not be the best space.
We have a cat.
Check out is at 10am.
No one in the house but paying guests.
No adding guests once your stay begins.
Don't let the cat out.
Enjoy the space as your own!
Ask us if you need anything extra we will try to provide!
