Charlene was very polite to accommodate our evening arrival, and kept in communication with us throughout the day. Her directions made finding their home easy, even in the dark. After a long day with our daughter at App State for family weekend, we slept comfortably in the tidy, spacious bedroom with private bath. It was very homey, with fresh towels and toilet articles laid out for our use. The electric baseboard heat warmed the room up quickly and it was nice being able to regulate the room temp to our liking. We were encouraged to make ourselves at home, to use the kitchen & watch TV in the living room, but my husband and I turned in early and slept well in the quiet mountain setting. While I had already turned in for the evening, my husband ran out to the car for his cell phone and met our host and hostess just returning from their evening out. They had a brief, pleasant exchange with offers of helping us if needed. They left before we did Sunday morning, so I am sorry to say I didn’t have the chance to meet them, but I’m sure they were being careful not to disturb us. I would highly recommend this accomodation and would gladly stay again.

Charlene was a communicative and warm host. She made me feel right at home and provided a number of spot-on recommendations in the area. In addition, the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I wish I had could have stayed longer than one night!

Great host with a comfortable home. We only spent one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Very comfortable bed, quiet location, only a short drive to Boone. Charlene had great restaurant recommendations as well as things to do in the area. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Response from Charlene:
Ronda was an amazing guest. I wish I had more time to listen to her stories and hear about her journey on her motorcycle to North Carolina. I would love to have her back again she was a perfect communicator, polite, and clean.

i had excellent stay at Charlene's. They were able to accommodate my unplanned late arrival. The room was very excellent, helped me rest after long day. I ended up staying again few days later and Charlene showed me some hikes and brook nearby. Very good place.

I'm an adventurous type of person who loves to travel. I have been all around the world. I'm an educator by nature but currently work in a non-profit. I can't live without my friends and family, the mountains, a good cup of coffee, and a good book.
