We loved Armelle's apartment in Angers. It is highly recommended for a family or group of of 4-6, there are not that many apartments this size in Angers and it is very reasonably priced. The apartment was much nicer and bigger than we had pictured from the photos and the description. It is modern, very light and spacious. There is a double bed, two single beds and a sofa bed that also fits two people. Armelle had plenty of spare sheets and towels which is something other hosts don't always have.
Armelle was also a gracious host who made us feel right at home and had left things like shampoo, laundry detergent, food and wine for us.
The apartment was well equipped with coffee maker, kettle, iron, pots and pans, wifi, etc. The bathroom is big by European standards and there is a lot of closet storage/ hanging space.
The park right below the apartment is perfect for families with young kids. There are not that many parks closely so this is definitely a plus. The apartment is also very close to the train station and within a 10 minute walk from the tramway stop. The tram was one of our favorite things about Angers. It is extremely modern and convenient. There is also a convenient bus stop right outside the apartment door.
Some points to note: there is no AC in the apartment, which is pretty common in Europe but travelers from the USA might want to keep in mind if they care about that. When we stayed in June 2017, there was also construction happening on the building next to the apartment and the noise was very loud. Check with the host about the status of the construction when you stay. This is not a problem after 3pm or on the weekends though as construction stops on Saturday and Sunday.
Our favorite things about Angers: Aqua Vita pool facility, Lac Du Main, Isle de St Aubin, the main square Ralliement with the little cafes, how clean everything is, Terra Botanica, the castle... It's a lovely town. Keep your translating app handy though, very little English is spoken anywhere!
