Virginia is great and her home is a relaxing place in a beautiful location. Kitchen is well equipped and she put fresh flowers from the garden around the house for us to enjoy!

Virginia's home was a delight for my friends and I staying for a ski weekend! We did not have difficulty getting to her home, and the drive up was beautiful and scenic. The home was clean and had enough seating for all of us in the living room and dining area. The beds were extremely comfortable and the hot water/heating was a relief from the single-digit weather we encountered during our trip. Her home is about 10 minutes from Bromley Ski Resort and 30 minutes from Stratton. It was a great delight to be cut off from internet--however, I suggest that anyone who stays here download map areas beforehand so that you will be able to get directions to where you need to go! I had no signal (data and cellular) in the home. It is easy enough to get yourself back onto the main road, but just in case you get lost, you will be able to find your way home.

We loved our stay at Virginia's cozy and warm little house. It is about a 12 minute drive to Bromley and about 15 minutes to Magic mountain. Kitchen is nicely equipped with everything one could need, heat was toasty warm and shower had nice hot water. It is not a fancy place, rather it is an old rustic house that had actually been moved from somewhere else. The upstairs toilet situation is a bit add - the toilet and sink are in a small area with just a folding screen wall - no real wall with door. So the 2 bedrooms upstairs share this and it could be a bit awkward using it if someone were sleeping in the next bedroom that you didn't want to hear you using the bathroom. This didn't bother the 4 of us since we had one couple upstairs and one downstairs so no one had to share that bathroom. Technically, the house sleeps 7 but a full house would have the strange bathroom situation. No internet but it was actually nice to get away from the world a bit. She has 2 TV's, DVDs and lots of board games. Best of all was Virginia herself - she made us chocolate chip cookies and checked on us periodically to make sure everything was OK. We spent a wonderful weekend there.

Had a wonderful time at our host Virginia's house located in Peru, VT. It was exactly what we were looking for, secluded, but not too far from civilization, the ski slopes, and the town of Manchester. House is old & rustic, but offered everything we needed. If you're looking to disconnect from technology and the constant barrage of news on TV, then this is the place for you. No internet and no live TV. After going through a day of tech withdrawal, it actually was quite pleasant to be disconnected. The house has a piano, and my kids enjoyed learning chopsticks and Mary Had A Little Lamb. Virginia providing a bunch of games for the kids as well as the adults. You're 15 minutes from Bromley, 25 minutes from Magic, and 30 minutes from Stratton. The location is great. The Peru, Hapgood Market is 10 minutes away. You wake up to a beautiful sunrise in the main bedroom. Can't say enough and I would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Response from Virginia:
Thanks Herb, I am glad your family enjoyed being unplugged and tried out the piano! The school in the woods near us designed curriculum around tuning into nature, camping in all seasons and being unplugged. Peru has always had a rustic flavor!

Virginia was an attentive and accessible host who made herself available to show us around and answer questions. Her home was comfortable, clean and good for anyone looking to unplug and enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds it. Great location for skiing and hiking.
