Dave's place is a great place for solo travelers or couples. It is situated in a very convenient neighbourhood in Oakland. The room is cozy and clean. Dave is welcoming and always up for a chat. He even set the table for me and my father so we can enjoy tea. Be mindful that it could be a little difficult to park your car as the streets get pretty full in the evening. Overall a fantastic stay.

I've had a long career in Travel which allowed me to have amazing experiences around the world and here in the U.S. Meeting people getting to know them making real connections sharing meals, a beverage, listening to stories and experiencing other cultures make me realize how good life is.

I live in a neighborhood that is filled with friendly people from all over the world I've heard over 100 languages are spoken in Oakland. There are so many dining and entertainment options, services, supermarkets, coffee shops, the Grand Lake Movie Theater, Lake Merritt are all within a 10 minutes walk.

Within a two mile radius are, Uptown, (Broadway & Grand) the Paramount Theatre, Old Town Oakland, Jack Landon Square, the Ferry Terminus to San Francisco, many beer gardens, and did you know Oakland is home to about 20 urban wineries there is even a bicycle tour available.

Other neighborhoods to explore are Berkeley, Rockridge and of course any place San Francisco which is probably 13 miles door to door.

How to get around: Cabs, Ride Share companies, BART, AC Transit Bus stop is 5 minutes walk away. You can also rent a bicycle at Lake View Bicycle

Favorite hangouts are: Shakewell, Barlargo, Sidebar, The Star Pizza, Boot n Shoe, Grand Oaks for the games, Mua, Era, District, A'Cote, Heart n Dagger, just to name a few.

Living here in the East Bay puts me in close proximity to many trails for hiking one of my favorite things, Lake Tahoe is a few hours away and camping in March through June is absolutely fabulous with perfect days and cool nights. Summer brings concerts and Reggae shows many are open air with such cool vibes, awesome!

Come visit Oakland and the Bay area you'll have a good time.
