We are situated in Heathcote Valley close to the Gondola and Lyttelton. 15 to 20 minutes drive to beach and central city. 2 minutes walk to bus stop.
Ideal for 2 people, but could accommodate 1 extra person on sofa bed.

Washing machine available in main house, first load free. Subsequent loads $2 per load.
The guesthouse is private and situated in the back of the garden with views onto the Port Hills.
The garden is shared with the front house.
The guesthouse is newly renovated with a comfortable queen-size bed and a separate living and kitchen area. There is a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Plenty of shelving and cupboard space too, and towels are provided.
2 burner stove-top, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster plus pots, pans, cuttlery and crockery - everything you need to cook a yummy meal.
You are most welcome to use the seating areas in the garden. If necessary you will also receive a key to the main house to access the laundry and washing machine.
Interaction with guests
We both speak German fluently.
Allan works full time in the city and Gaby in her studio at home, painting in oils and printmaking as well as looking after the garden. The main house is an original cottage, built at the beginning of the 20th century. We have lived here for 25 years.
Other things to note
We have 2 cats, Kasper and Anwyn, who are very friendly. There is a cat door in the guesthouse, but it is usually locked. So if you like the company of a cat you can unlock the cat door to let them in.
- Please remove dirty shoes when entering
- No Torrent downloads
- Early check in and late check out by arrangement
- Smoking ok in garden
- The garden is shared with the main house, but we will respect your privacy at any time
Allan works full time in Christchurch and Gaby is an artist working at home in her studio, she paints with oils and is a printmaker.
We both love the outdoors, go kayaking and tramping when the time allows it, enjoy good books and good company. We have lived in our cottage in Heathcote for 25 years and are looking forward to welcoming travelers.
