Other things to note

Akaroa offers so much! If you want a quiet and romantic getaway, Villa Vangioni is for you. And if you want to go and explore the village and the harbour, or take a cruise to see dolphins, seals and penguins, I am happy to give you all the information you need. Central, historic house. Access to the whole of the upstairs with plenty of space. Comfortable bed, huge bathroom with both shower and bath. Marianne was very hospitable and flexible. Breakfast was served when we asked for it and was yummy. If only the weather had been better and we had been able to swim with dolphins it would have been a perfect stay!!! Next time please akaroa.

Dagmar and I throughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful old house which has a lot of character and history. Marianne was so attentive towards us and it was like home from home for us. We enjoyed very much being in the town and were able to manage everything there without the car. We will be back.

A lovely cottage in the historic part of Akaroa. Marianne is a lovely host and made us most welcome. Her breakfasts are a wonderful start to the day. The crisp cotton linen on the bed was a delight; the fresh flowers in each room were a lovely touch. A great place to relax; the garden is a very pleasant place to relax. Make sure you see Pavarotti the tame eel in the stream.

A lovely character property and a fantastic host. Marianne has a relaxed style and made us feel right at home. Great facilities and breakfast was excellent: cereal, fresh fruit, croissants, juice and tea/coffee etc. Marianne's home gives the opportunity to get under the skin of Akaroa - we stayed in a motel the last time we were here and this was so much better! We would definitely go back again and would recommend a stay with Marianne.

I am a friendly and well-traveled person who enjoys meeting new people. I have lived in the UK, Australia, the US, Canada, Sri Lanka, Germany and France.

I love to cook, go hiking - New Zealand is one of the best places in the world for hiking! - and spend time with family. I also love music - my taste is quite broad - blues and rock 'n roll top the list, but i am also a fan of Puccini and Verdi, Latino salsa, and much more. I love this little corner of NZ: Akaroa is a very special place and I would love to help you discover it for yourself.
