Picton, Marlborough, New Zealand

Picton has something for everyone. The gateway to South Island - you can relax before or after crossing the Cook Straits on the ferries - or better still, stay a few days and explore the local area. Sample our great wine & local produce: take a Wine tour or drive yourself around the cellar doors, or just swing past the local supermarket for a great range of produce.
Fishing, water sports or sightseeing around the Marlborough Sounds: visit one of our excellent lodges in the Sounds by water taxi, charter a boat, kayak or why not bring your own boat.
For the more active visitor, put on your tramping boots & explore some of the great local walks, or hire a mountain bike & check out the MTB tracks on the Snout, or maybe hire a kayak & explore the Sounds. So much to do - so little time !

My husband and I are intrepid travellers and enthusiastic sailors. We live on an ocean going yacht in the Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand and are absolutely living the dream. We emigrated in 2011 from the UK - where I had an amazing 20 year career in the Royal Navy as a seagoing Engineering Officer. We plan to eventually set sail in our own boat on an adventure on the high seas - but will return home on completion (to New Zealand). As AirBNB superhosts, we love meeting new people and hearing about their adventures and sharing our passion for our own back yard - the amazing Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand.
