Welcome to our old and cozy farmhouse! The rooms are very spacious and beautiful, wood floors throughout the house, lovely bathroom with a bathtub big enough for two, an extra bathroom with toilet and sink, spacious kitchen and 10 acres of land. We have a small but fierce dog, a cat and chicken and horses. It's very quiet and only a 25 minute drive to Nelson (there is a bus stop a few kms away, pick up and drop off are usually available).

The space
100 year old rustic farmhouse in the beautiful Slocan Valley. Surrounded by pasture and gardens, shaded by tall maple and chestnut trees in the summer. A creek flows by part of the year. Stillness and peacefulness in a lovely natural setting.

Your bedroom has a cute little cubby, big enough for a child to sleep in, or a cozy place to read in; however, our house is not suited for small children.

Guest access
Living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, veranda, garden, orchard.

Other things to note
We will send you instructions once you've booked. PLEASE NOTE: we have NO cell reception (but do have WiFi), therefore please print or photograph the instructions, so you have them accessible once you get close to here. It's a rural area

If you’re bringing a pet, please let us know in advance. Please note that there is a $15 pet cleaning fee!

Breakfast:
Farm fresh eggs for your breakfast if you like!
When in season, fresh greens and veggies are available.
. We have no mosquitoes, so if you like to sleep outside in the summer, there are outdoor options:)
It's a 5 minute drive to the beach, and in the summer you can float down the Slocan River, about 3-4 hours of bliss. We have equipment:)

There are two cafes that serve organic food and espresso within a few minute's drive. There are lovely walking trails nearby. In the winter, there are lots of elk. In the fall, if you're lucky, you can hear them bugle. One sometimes meets them in the middle of the night on the road in front of the house. In June and July we get so many hummingbirds that people come here just to watch them. Sometimes we hear owls call at night. In the summer, you can sleep outside, there are no mosquitoes. You can hang out with the horses, dogs and chickens. The cat will decide for himself if you can.

Sabina is an art therapist, specializing in trauma and mindfulness. She also has a great passion for tango. In the summer, she is mostly found outside, because there is always something that needs doing and/or enjoying. Our house is a farmhouse, so please expect the odd spider or chicken feather floating around the house at times! We have been living in the area for a long time and know some great spots for exploring, swimming and hiking. We have two horses, and if you are an experienced rider, there is a chance for a nice ride. Our yard is not fenced, so if you're bringing your pooch, hopefully s/he has good recall and does not chase livestock;)) Our home is ideal for those who need to unwind, heal, write, meditate, or in their own way nurture their soul. The nights are still, and everyone who’s been here has commented on how well and deeply they’ve slept, and how nurtured they feel by the energy of the house. Sabina grows a lovely garden in the summer, and there are places you can just sit and be, and recharge your body and mind.

During your stay
I'm usually here to greet guests and show them around. After that, I'm usually not far if anything is needed, and I check my email frequently in case I'm away from the house.
