Ours is a house like no many others. Whatever the reason of your trip, staying with us will give you the opportunity to make your visit to Dublin truly unique and unforgettable. In fact, it does not happen often to have the possibility of living in a fully restored Irish Victorian house that will make you experience the style and elegance of the past with no compromise on all the comforts of 21st century modern living.

The space

Our house is a late-Victorian (ca 1890s) building of generous and elegant proportions that underwent a roof-to-ground very sympathetic restoration and redecoration between 2012 and 2013. The house retains most of its original features from over 120 years ago, such as marble fireplaces, cornicing, wall wood panels, floor boards, doors, knobs, locks and even brass finger plates! Everything, including the smallest detail, has been carefully and lovingly restored. As part of our restoration project, the house was given all the comforts of modern living, such as hardwood double-glazed sash windows, floor and walls insulation, underfloor heating, sounds proofing.

The result is a charming, elegant but cosy and comfortable home that has very few equals in Dublin. Not by chance the house has been featured on two first-class interior design magazines, including the cover page of the January 2014 issue of the prestigious "Ireland’s Homes Interiors & Living”.

Guest access

Our elegant and cosy guest room is within a self-contained part of the house consisting of its own landing, bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom with a large window. It has direct access to the staircase of the house and offers a lot of privacy. The bedroom has a full view of our lovely back garden and is very silent and quiet. It is furnished with original antiques and objets d’art and even has a 19th century fireplace! There is a kingsize bed and the bathroom has a spacious tiled shower. You will find only top-quality fragrant impeccable bed and bath clothes and the best Irish-made room fragrances and toiletries to get pampered after an exciting day out. There is free wifi for the Guests.

Our Guests are welcome to enjoy the elegant front drawing room and the beautiful formal dining room that still retains the original Victorian carved wall panels. Both reception rooms are furnished with antique furniture, old paintings and proudly display their original fully working marble fireplaces. A delicious and abundant breakfast, based on locally sourced food, is served in the formal dining room, laid out on an original Victorian table, overlooking our lush walled garden.

Interaction with guests

We are committed to make our Guests’ stay the most enjoyable as possible and we are delighted to help in any way and to share our deep knowledge of all the best kept secrets in Dublin. At the same time, as we live in this house we ask to respect our private spaces and to follow all the simple rules of the house that are clearly stated in the listing. We believe that staying here you can appreciate the unique character of our home: A luxurious true Victorian Experience.

Other things to note

Please note our strict no smoking and no alcohol policy anywhere in the house and in the garden.

Our beautiful cat Melba is also an inhabitant of the house. She's a very quiet and friendly family pet and we know that nobody can resist her charm!

Daniele and Guiseppe's house is absolutely stunning and a real treat to visit and stay in. They are perfect hosts, helpful and welcoming. The location is also ideal, easily walkable into the hubbub of the city but a little corner of peace and tranquillity. We would thoroughly recommend it to other visitors to Dublin.

Daniele is a wonderful host and the room is lovely. The location is perfect, with a supermarket closeby and only a 3 minute walk to the busstop to the city centre. The breakfast is included and delicious. We had a great 3 days stay.

What an house - beautiful! The location is very convenient with bars and restaurants within walking distance. It’s also not far from the city centre. We had our own wing of the house, which gave us privacy and everything was spotless. Breakfast was delicious and Daniele was wonderful to deal with. If we’re lucky enough to visit Dublin again, we’ll definitely try booking with Danielle again! Thanks guys for a wonderful stay!

We had a great stay at Daniele's place. Nice location: quiet, yet close enough to the city centre and all the main attractions in Dublin. Daniele is a very gentle host, who made us feel very welcome in his home. We had breakfast at different times each day, which was no (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication was smooth and quick, mostly through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). The room and bathroom have all the facilities one wants during a stay abroad. Very nice bed/blanket.

The place is a must-see for the Victorian's lovers. Dan welcomed us really well, everything was ready even if we arrived earlier than what we told him. We didn't have the time to try his full "majestic" breakfast because of our flight to catch in the morning but even the small one was a very good moment. He is really warm and you will quickly get that he loves to host.

This airbnb is in a lovely restored town home in a quiet neighborhood. There are a number of excellent restaurants nearby and it's an easy 10-15 minute walk to either the Grafton Street or St Stephens Green areas. Daniele and Giuseppe are great hosts. Breakfast each morning is served in the beautiful dining room with classical music playing softly in the background. All in all we could not have been more pleased with our choice to stay here.

I am an italian visual artist/illustrator living in Dublin for many years. My various and different interests include arts, crafts, antiques, cooking, gardening, pets (I'm mad about my beautiful much loved cat named Melba), classical music, singing, nature, and travels. I really love classic interior design and period houses! I feel so privileged to live in a house that fits my taste and gives me the opprtunity to explore and enjoy all my passions. My partner & I have spent the last few years taking care of this house to transform it into our home. We think of it as a gift from the past with the responsability to bring it into the future in a very respectful and sympathetic way. We are keen and happy to share the joy of this privilege with our friends and guests!
