Submerse yourself into the simplicity that is Thai life and live amongst the locals in the quaint little Sea Gypsy Village.
This voyage is yours to plan by yourself, discover the real local Thai culture and enjoy the best experience without having to pay hefty tour agency fees.
Our newly built Chill out house in the village of Laem pho is a cosy and comfortable alternative to a stuffy hotel room. This entirely self-catering holiday home requires its occupants to be totally self-sufficient.

The space

Chill out village is located in “Ban Laem pho”, a sea gypsy village surrounded by nature, nestled in a peaceful coastal area just a short distance from the famous Shell Fossil Beach. The location is short 20 minute drive away from Krabi town and 10 minute drive to the busy tourist destination of Ao nang beach. It is extremely easy to catch a long tail boat over to Railay or Tonsai from Ao nammao pier or you can walk 20/25 minutes to the main road and catch a public bus to Krabi or Ao nang. We have push bicycles available for rent for a small fee, to get around the village and surrounding area.

Guest access

This beautiful modern house can sleep up to 4 people but you are also in a beautiful spot for a quiet romantic break for 2. The well thought out living space offers a bright and airy 1 bedroom with king size bed complete with air con. In the living room there is a sofa bed and we can provide a mattress for the 4th person. Built with western amenities the bathroom has a powerful hot shower and western style toilet. There is also a kitchenette with electric cooker and fridge.

The properties boast a large outside terrace which overlooks the peaceful and serene laem pho area and you can enjoy the calmness of this South Thailand hidden gem.

We have push bicycles available for rent for a small fee, to get around the village and surrounding area.

Interaction with guests

I will meet you when you check in and give you the details you need. I can help with organising the scooter or rent a car. You can reach me anytime via message or telephone. We are lucky enough to have a lovely thai couple living close to the houses and they are happy to help with anything. Please understand English is not their first language but will still do all they can to help.

Other things to note

The house is situated amongst nature; you will not have the noise of traffic or loud music from bars and clubs. Instead you will hear the frogs, crickets and geckos. In the low season during the wet weather the frog chorus can be quite loud. If you have any fear from seeing any of these animals then perhaps an inner city hotel would be best. But just remember the Geckos are great guests for keeping the mosquitoes at bay!! Like with any humid country we do have mosquitoes, also we are not far from the Krabi River. Please bring mosquito spray and you can even buy mosquito coils for on the terrace.

Both me and my wife highly recommend the stay at the Chill out Village. We stayed in house #3 for a week and if we could we would extend our stay for at least another week. The house is brand new, beautifully designed and very clean. Is was extremely convenient for us, travelling with our 2 boys (2 and 4). The highlight for us was the location - away from the touristic vibe of Ao-nang - at the edge of a small fishermen village. Outside our balcony - buffalos were marching every morning and while motorbiking in and out of the village - we would pass by chickens, ducks and young goats. The hosts (Lerrin and Laura) were very helpful and generous and provided local tips for the area. We are looking forward for our next stay at this lovely place!

I had a great stay at the Chill Out Village, the hosts were great and organised a taxi to and from the house and then when I was there I rented a bicycle for a small amount of money, and could go off and explore the village, the local shops and food stalls are great, they have pretty much everything you need, and the 7-11 or family mart is not too far away on the main road. There are some really good local restaurants too. The house itself is well decorated and had free drinking water. The patio area with hammock and gardens, was nice to sit and relax in the afternoon. Hot water shower in the bathroom and western toilet, made this stay even better after travelling. The wildlife is cool, with water buffalo that come every day and ducks, goats, and chickens in the village. This stay was great to get away from the tourists and to be able to relax in some great surroundings.

Thank you for having us! The host that lives on site was very helpful with everything we needed, she met us at the house with the keys and helped us out a lot, from renting scooters, to organising our horse riding trip and taxis to and from the airport. The area of lampoo is chilled and relaxed and you get a real feel of Thai living in this beautiful village. The local shop is in walking distance and the local fresh market is only a 5-10-minute drive away. The beach is close by and again only a short drive. You do need a scooter or a car to get around, but it’s very cool to ride through the village and see all the locals and the nature, ducks, goats, and water buffalo. The house itself is modern and clean, with everything we needed. Amazing to wake up and sit on the terrace every morning, it’s so peaceful. I would defiantly recommend to stay here.

Since ten years I live with my husband in Krabi. We have two small children and have a family business on Tonsai bay, Railay beach. I'm half Thai-German and had traveled everywhere in the world. Now I have a place at home and would like to give you the opportunity to know my beau…
