This lovely home has stunning panoramic views; it was built in 2012 as a full-season home with heaters & overhead fans. There is an eagles' nest nearby; watch them fly over Taunton Bay. Seals, osprey, fox, deer, mink, & heron provide entertainment in a very quiet, private & tranquil setting. Watch the tides and relax in comfort. Here is what our guests have rated us: 6/12/17 Paul F. "Fantastic Place to Stay!!! *****". 6/29/17 Terry W. "Absolutely gorgeous place to stay! *****"

Guest access

Kitchen is fully-equipped with pots, silverware & utensils plus coffee maker, hot water kettle, blender & microwave, stove, oven & dishwasher. Buy your seafood at the local shack down the road and use our pot to steam clams & lobster. Last year his prices went up to only $5 a pound ! Baths have towels, mats & washcloths + beach towels for swimming or using kiddie pool. Bunk room has baby gate, doors to stairwells have high hooks if you need to keep child on same floor but there are no child locks in kitchen or on outlets.

Interaction with guests

Friendly hosts are available by cell phone or email during your stay. Local manager lives nearby if you have an emergency & she will normally check you in to begin your stay.

Other things to note

Since you will arrive in the late afternoon or evening, check our local weather to see which days are best for Acadia National Park; there is so much to do there it takes at least a day to enjoy it. You will want another 1/2 day to shop in Bar Harbor & maybe take a boat ride or walk the bar; plan on another 1/2 day to see Schoodic Point! We provide directions & local info in the manual at our house.

Beautiful house and a great view. Jeanie is a sweet hostess. The house is very clean. It is only half an hour drive to Acadia national park and bar harbor. We have a great time stay. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for Jeanie and Richard for letting us to stay.

Response from Richard & Jeanie:
Min is a courteous guest & smart to see that if she had chosen a place in Bar Harbor town, with traffic it would still have been 1/2 hr drive to Acadia. So they were able to enjoy a quiet, peaceful and scenic house while enjoying beautiful Maine. We would definitely be their hosts again.

The pictures of this house are nice but don’t do it justice. This home is absolutely beautiful and Jeanie is a sweet and very helpful hostess.

Jeanie is very nice, warm and considerate. She is very helpful with everything and we had a great stay for this long weekend. The house is very lovely, the view is spectacular, right in front of water, very peaceful, quiet and secluded. Barbecue grill is included, also you could have the breakfast on the patio. It is about half an hour drive to Acadia national park and bar harbor, which is nice and convenient. The rooms are very clean and comfy. It will be a great choice for small group of people or family gathering. I will highly recommend Richard & Jeanie's house to whom would like to have a laid-back relaxing vacation and I will definitely choose their house again if I visited Maine in the other time!

Response from Richard & Jeanie:
Wei is very sweet; we are so glad she and her group enjoyed our home. She was fortunate to have wonderful weather the day they went to Acadia & Bar Harbor. That was a lot to do in one day, especially after breakfast on the screened porch. Maybe she also used the patio table outside the lower level or the larger table down by the water's edge. Our photos are taken from the property and it is much more scenic in person.

As hosts, we are an active senior couple who love to share our summer home in Maine with you.
As guests, we love to travel, especially in Europe. So far we have been to London, Paris 3 times, Normandy, Brittany, Brussels, Prague, western Ireland, Norway, Vienna, Munich, Venice and Florence. We prefer renting an apt to relax in the evening after a busy day walking through the town, going to museums & galleries and eating interesting food. We like to stay in one place and explore each town so we plan all our trips ourselves; we are probably more adventurous than people who would use a group tour. Thank you for renting your apt; we will leave it clean and in excellent condition.
