Great little apartment near the bay and 15 minute walking distance from both Tenjin and Nakasu-Kawabata stations. You can get to a 24hr megadonkey near Nakasu-Kawabata and all the great places to shop, dine and party are around Tenjin. That being said, there aren't really any restaurants really close that I'd recommend, as the Ramen place next door closes at 5PM for some odd reason. However, as long as you can get to Tenjin for some midnight street food you'll be all set! My only complaint really, for the price that is, would have to be the lack of both cleaning services and a vacuum. Since customers have to stay a minimum of 4 nights the room can get a little dusty and messy as a traveler. Communication was a little slow at times as well, oh and the walls are paper thin so get ready to fall asleep to your neighbors conversations. All said and done, there's probably better out there though for the price (I paid 38$ / night). Overall, a decent place if everywhere's booked. For the traveler that doesn't want to stay right in the heart of the city but still close, and wants to avoid guest houses, I suppose this is a great match for the budget. Happy travels!
This Airbnb is a great value option that is a 20 minute walk in to central Fukuoka. My arrival was super easy (my room was unlocked and the keys were left on the desk) and the bed was pretty comfortable. The building itself faces the waterway and its just a really good option for a solo traveler.
