The Glass Room and Wooden Caravan are perfect for people who love wilderness, and nature. It's for adventurous souls, who thrive on wide open spaces, warmth and a simpler way of life. There are views that will take your breath away, rocks to scramble over and lovely long walks to be enjoyed. As with other tracts of wild Africa, we do have some dangerous animals around, including elephant, the occasional lion and leopard and venomous snakes, although it is not often that we see the latter.

The space
The Glass Room backs onto an enormous rock, which is part of a kopje, and it faces towards the East; as a result early rising is often the case. The Wooden Caravan perches beneath a small but shady tree, with a queen Lamu four poster fitted on one end. It's cosy and adventurous all at once.

With a few elephant, giraffe, gazelle, zebras and dikdik, it is a great place for walking, but one must be careful of the elephants. One can often find the rare Grevy's zebra here too. Should you want to walk further afield, a guide and routes can be planned out for you.

There are wonderful local markets nearby on some days of the week.
A troop of habituated baboons can also be seen in the evenings, together with a guide, as they come into roost in the rocky hills nearby.

It’s a great place to relax, read a book and dream a while.

Where you’ll be

Nanyuki, Laikipia County, Kenya

It is hot, dusty, rocky and absolutely beautiful. Enormous skies and views for miles. The perfect place to unwind. Signal is a bit iffy - but you can find it if you need it.
