When a friend is thinking of moving to Los Angeles, people make sure to bring them to my house. The yurt is the most compelling part of the conversion experience. Nestled among 30 fruit trees on a half-acre lot, it's classic bohemian California.

The yurt itself was nice, but exposed. There were dogs barking all night long, and the wood provided for the wood burning stove was too large to actually fit in the stove. We looked around for an axe but never saw one, so it was a chilly couple of nights.

Staying in the yurt was a rare treat— honestly we don't much like camping/glamping/being outside in general, but we sure liked this place! There's something about it with the fruity trees, comfy lawn chairs & hammock to bask in the sun. Carrick was pleasant and quick to attend to…
