Just 5 minutes from the Museum of Life and Science and 10 minutes from Downtown Durham. The apartment has everything needed to make for a comfy stay. If you want to cook, feel free to use the kitchen; it has all the basics.

The space

Ok...so not actually a Direwolf but he's a white Husky/Samoyed mix that I named Ghost after the Jon's Direwolf in Game of Thrones. This is a two bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms...and one bathroom has a bidet. You are welcome to use any appliances in the house during your stay. There will also be a guest wifi password provided upon arrival. In the bedroom there is a 37" tv, a Wii, water cooler with mini fridge, massage chair, ironing board and alarm clock with a speaker (chrome audio is set up on there so you can cast music from your phone).

Guest access

You will have access to the whole apartment. While enjoying a movie, feel free to pop some popcorn, grab a box of candy and get a drink from the Red Bull fridge to make the movie experience more enjoyable. The balcony has a tv as well. There are assigned parking spots, you can park in one of the spots labeled A-6 or visitor.

Interaction with guests

I am happy to help you find your way around or offer restaurant recommendations. Just let me know if you need anything, otherwise I will respect your privacy. I teach students with severe and profound autism at a school across the street, so feel free to reach out and I will try my best to respond or provide anything you need.

Travelers, if you are a light sleeper or are a business traveler who needs to get up early the following day for work, this is probably not an ideal place to stay. The check-in communication and process was very good and easy. I arrived at 1am and stayed only until 8am before I forfeited my four-night reservation because I encountered a number of issues during my stay that I had expressed with the host upon my departure. First, the bed was coil-style, and was very uncomfortable and made a lot of noise every time I moved, and the floor was the same way every time I walked on it. Not at all within his control, but an hour into my sleep, around 3am, I was awoken by people laughing and talking loudly outside my window. Turns out, there were about 5-6 guys in the building across from his' who were all outside having a party. This continued until 5am before they went back inside. When I tried going back to sleep afterwards, I constantly heard alarms going off all around me for the next hour or so. I wasn't sure it was even coming from his apartment, or if the walls were just thin. Then, after being awoken prematurely again around 7am by his dog chewing his toy up against my door, I let him in and he greeted me with so much enthusiasm that it turned a bit aggressive, coupled with jumping on my bed. I suspect because he got excited seeing a stranger in his house and after smelling my female dog all over my stuff. He eventually calmed down and appeared to be sweet. Then when I went to take a shower, I didn't see any soap provided so I ended up using some liquid soap I brought with me. Upon stepping in the shower, I saw what appeared to be mold all over the shower curtain and floor mat. I'm allergic to mold so I had to be very careful to not rub up against it. Then as I was getting ready to leave, there was dog poop on the floor in the living room/entertainment area and a large puddle of pee in front of the kitchen. I would have cleaned it up, but I was already on my way out the door. I felt really bad for leaving Ghost like that. In hindsight, he was probably trying to tell me he desperately needed to go outside when he growled and acted aggressively towards me. So for a business trip, I just don't think it was the right fit for me. I thanked him for having me stay for the night. After that first morning, I decided not to come back and returned the key upon my departure. I wrote to him letting him know I wasn't coming back and he stated that the shower curtain didn't have mold, but mildew, and was changing it out. As for his dog, he said his dog walker couldn't...

It was nice place to stay. The room is big enough, clean, and cozy. The kitchen is convenient and has everything you need for cooking. Timothy is hospitable and always glad to help. There is a special free parking slot for guests right in front of the house. It was very convenient.

Timothy's place was even better than it looked in the photos. Ghost was a sweetheart who loves to play and get pets, but will also completely leave you alone if thats what you do to him. Nice TVs in every room.

Had a great stay! I was in town for school and it was only a short drive to Duke's campus which was great! Ghost is a really sweet dog which was a great added bonus too!

Timothy's place is a great value and is located in a very good location with parking! Check in was easy. The TVs in the room and in the living room are fantastic for watching Netflix. And of course, Ghost, the dog, was the best dog!! Super friendly and lovable. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Tim was great at communicating and very accomodating. The apartment was clean, well-stocked, and accurately described. The massage chair and the very cute husky were highlights for me!
