Situated in the historic town of North Berwick, 29 Old Abbey Road, is a traditional, red sandstone terraced cottage, located near the centre of the town and within easy walking distance of North Berwick’s famous, long sandy beaches.
29 Old Abbey Road is a bright and sunny traditional cottage, situated opposite the entrance to the Old Cistercian Nunnery and within easy walking distance of the centre of North Berwick, the West Bay beach and the railway station. There are frequent trains to Edinburgh and other towns and villages in East Lothian with a wide variety of sporting and cultural events within easy reach.
The cottage consists of three public rooms and three bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to six people and is ideal for families, couples and as a working retreat. There is free parking available on the street.
The cottage is furnished in a contemporary fashion with the ground floor having a living room, dining room, kitchen and a beautiful conservatory, providing ample space and comfort for a range of activities. The living room has a traditional fireplace with a gas fire, giving a cosy atmosphere, perfect for playing games after a long day on the beach. The dining room can seat 10 people making it ideal for entertaining and spacious enough for working. The recently refurbished galley kitchen with all new fittings and appliances leads to the conservatory.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, the master bedroom which is often bathed, in morning sunshine, has an antique-pine, 4-poster bed. Bedroom two has twin beds, a comfortable sofa and a large chest of drawers. Bedroom three is a child’s bedroom with bunk beds. The bright and spacious bathroom has an over bath shower.
There is a small secure garden and patio to the rear of the house providing access to a large shed with a Belfast sink, freezer and laundry facilities, the shed provides ideal secure storage for sports equipment.
There is excellent Talk Talk WiFi and a flat screen TV with DVD player. There is a combi boiler central heating with continuous hot water on demand. Duvets, linen and towels are provided. Electricity and heating are included in the price for all short lets.
The cottage has a strict no smoking policy and is not suitable for pets, parties. Please respect our neighbours. Keys are available from 15:00 on day of arrival and the premises must be vacated by 10:00 on day of departure. On your arrival, we will be there to greet you or keys will be left in an external key box. The code for this will be sent to you prior to your arrival.
