Carmel's house is absolutely perfect for a stay in beautiful North Berwick - close enough to the town centre to be handy for the shops and places to eat and to the station for trips into Edinburgh (we visited during the Festival/Fringe), but also pretty quiet. It's also close enough to the stunning beaches to allow for good appetite-building walks before trying one of the many great restaurants in town.

I can't fault this property or Carmel! Both provided everything I needed for my stay here along with little extras that made it even more special. If you need a dark room to sleep in I would recommend bringing black out blinds as the bedrooms are light. Recommendations for the local area: Herringbone for cocktails. A walk around the gardens and park in town. Dirleton Castle. Tyningham Links (take change for the parking meter - I received a fine as I didn't have enough change to buy a ticket!) - a stoney beach but a nice walk and in the woods. Steampunk for coffee (it's strong!). Bostock Bakery for a bostock. National Museum of Flight - we spent all day there. Seabird Centre - they do children's activities so check that out before you go. Putting at the East Links beach. Tennis courts at the West Links beach. Archerfield Walled Gardens - they do a Fairy Walk which is good fun with the kids.

We had a great stay this lovely house in Old Abbey Road in North Berwick. The house is in an excellent location, close to the town and station and it was ideal for our family group. Additionally it is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Thank you for the milk, the toffees and the lovely postcard of the Bass Rock, that was a kind thought. We took the sea safari from the harbour and were delighted to spot some puffins near Craigleith and amazed at the sight of the gannets at Bass Rock. Awesome! Another highlight was a visit to the Museum of Flight to see Concorde. North Berwick is a lovely town with a wonderful beach, ideal for a family stay. We would not hesitate to visit again and to recommend this property to others.

Lovely little Red Sandstone cottage for my whole family (3 children + two adults). Kitchen was well furnished and all needed things were there including frequently used items such as coffee, sugar etc... The house is comfortable and we really liked the glassed in room at the back.
