This fabulous townhouse is close to the center of downtown, the new streetcar, & dozens of great restaurants & cafes.
12' ceilings of old-growth rough-sawn rafters in the front rooms date to 1888 or earlier. The mix of old plasters in the kitchen are a tapestry the Whitney or Getty would love, and above are planks from pre-1880 packing crates.
Just outside the bedroom is the gated & cloistered courtyard. A spiral stairs leads to the roof terrace & sunset views.
Ochoa Court and its 9 townhouses are in the heart of the Barrio Libre National Historic District on the south side of downtown Tucson. Lodging cheaper and larger can be found lots of places, but massive old walls, high ceilings, and first-rate renovation make these adobes tops in character -- total non-generic.
This townhouse is exclusively yours with its own entry and separate door to the central gated courtyard and roof terrace. The courtyard, its barbecue, the bocce ball set, and the roof terrace are common amenities for guests in the 8 adobes around the courtyard. The paved off-street parking has motion-sensor lighting at night and a parking stall for each unit.
Interaction with guests
Bobbie Jo and I live just one block away and are usually nearby. If you have any questions at any time, please let us know!
Other things to note
The wi-fi is best in the bedroom or courtyard, but the signal isn't as strong in the kitchen & dining area or the front room because of many thick adobe walls.
