Liz and Hemi welcome you to The Blue House, our warm and inviting home. Whilst staying here you will enjoy picturesque views of the beautiful Hokianga Harbour. Enjoy an evening drink and/or breakfast on either the blue or green deck. Your spacious bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, quality linens and soft towels for use in your own bathroom. The Blue House is a short stroll to the Art Gallery and cafes in the Rawene village and is literally a minute drive to the vehicle ferry wharf.

The space
Rawene is a small village on the Hokianga Harbour. 30mins from Kaikohe.
Travellers can make their way from Rawene to Cape Reinga, taking in the beautiful Coastline. We are a short drive to Opononi and the famous sand dunes, a day trip to Tane Mahuta and the Kauri Forest and an easy drive to the Bay of Islands.

Guest access
Our Guests are more than welcome to relax on our decks, share our lounge etc. We are more than happy for our visitors to use our kitchen for light cooking . Rawene does have limited café service and a very good takeaway, but everything closes before 7pm.

Other things to note
*Rawene is a small village where cafes and shops close early.
*Evening meals are available at the local Takeaway shop (early closing) 6 days a week
*Liz and Hemi are very happy for you to prepare yourself a light meal in their kitchen, or alternatively, a light evening meal can be provided for an additional but reasonable cost if arranged well in advance of arrival.

Hemi & I have retired to Rawene in the Far North of New Zealand from Auckland. I am of English ancestry through my mother and was born in the south of the South Island of New Zealand. I am involved with the embroidery guild of NZ through our groups here in Rawene and Kerikeri. Hemi has strong links to this area through his Maori Ancestry. He loves playing golf on our small 9 hole golf course here in Rawene. We enjoying hosting people from all over the world.
