4 roomed airy light-filled cottage and parking on-site at the cottage on our secure property. We have lived in this area for 20 years and love its convenience and charm: near to boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, WW foods, services. We are 5 mins to Newlands forest, University of Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Cavendish Square; and 10 mins to beaches and the city centre. (For games, Newlands Station and rugby and cricket are all very close).
The living room and kitchen are open plan. There is a main double bedroom and second bedroom which has two single beds which can be set up as a king size bed (tell us which you want and if you would prefer to sleep downstairs). Living room and second bedroom have French doors opening onto a private, fenced, outside area with chairs and table and where a laundry with washing machine and dryer are housed. (The trestle table is stored inside.)
Secure parking in the property for two cars. There is no height restriction on access to the parking area.
Interaction with guests
We live in the main (separate) house so have no automatic overlap with guests. We leave you to yourselves but are on hand if there are any queries or advice needed.
Other things to note
We are next door to a senior school so at 8am and 3pm when parents drop and collect, it can be busy at our entrance. In all other respects, they are lovely neighbours.
Please note that the staircase to the upstairs bedroom is quite steep and there is an open fireplace, so that is why no young children. [The downstairs bedroom has 2 single / convertible to a kingsize bed for guests who do not want to sleep upstairs.]

Hi, Martin is a retired mechanical engineer and Jane is a communication consultant and university lecturer. Our four boys once filled this big property but have left, so now we have two cottages to let and enjoy the different guests/tenants who visit. Many we still hear from.
We have extensive knowledge about Cape Town and its surrounds from cultural and arts, and local tradition to food and wine, and sport.
