4 roomed airy light-filled cottage and parking on-site at the cottage on our secure property. We have lived in this area for 20 years and love its convenience and charm: near to boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, WW foods, services. We are 5 mins to Newlands forest, University of Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Cavendish Square; and 10 mins to beaches and the city centre. (For games, Newlands Station and rugby and cricket are all very close).

Great location for Two Oceans start and walking distance to Foresters Pub! We only really used it as a base for the race. Great hosts and great comms. Only drawback was small bathroom in a bit of an awkward place.

Response from Martin & Jane:
Hi Gerry: we are obsessed with bathrooms having private spaces between the living area and the bathroom so in designing the cottage we thought it better to make the bathroom smaller and have one go through the utility room so that there is not a direct link between bathroom and other rooms. I recall flats from my youth where one sat in a living room and looked at a loo if the bathroom door was open. C'est la vie!

One needs to take note of the stair case when booking. It is easy to look at the photos without actually taking in the dimensions of the staircase. The last 2 stairs are also suddenly much further apart (deeper) than the rest of the staircase. The rail, is just a rail. there is …

Yes. The stairs were designed as they for aesthetic reasons and were only used by family. Now it is public space we have ordered a second rail for the less agile.

Martin and Jane are great hosts, a lovely couple and very very warm in their contact. There is always a lot going in around the house and this made the stay very "homey" and day-to-day. I go for work to CPT and a personal atmosphere is a welcome complement to the daily office rou…
