A sunny vintage sixties apartment with open sea view, quietly located, all comfort, within walking distance of all that is needed for a short or long stay at the sea.
Oostende is a bustling city by the sea, where all seasons have something to offer for nature lovers, culture, heritage, a lively city with history, character and the sea close by.
20 mins walk from the city center, tram stop nearby, parking nearby, restaurants, shops and department stores within walking distance.
The wide North Sea beach is 20 meters from the apartment. During the summer season you will find typical beach houses, terraces and dike fun. You can go hiking on water sports at Outside Oostende Surfing, cycling and go-karting. In the immediate vicinity you will find some restaurants, tearooms and shops.
Oostende is a real port city and terminal at the sea. Including hip shops, cafes and restaurants, the typical beachfront venue, nightlife and culture. Oostende is also a city with a rowdy and rich past, a city of change that attracts more and more people who fall for its charm. You will find all the information about Oostende at Visit Oostende.
If you bring bicycles, you can safely park them in our bike cellar. In Ostend you can also rent bikes for a day, weekend or week. Near us you will find several bicycle renters:

The coastal tram and bus
The coastal tram, a unique piece of heritage and the best way to explore the entire Belgian coast stops near the apartment (Halte Oostende Northlaan). Here you will find the travel guide. The tram runs from 6 am to 10 pm in the evening, in summer more than otherwise.
At 400 m distance you will also find a stop of bus line 6 (station airport)
If you are coming by train to Ostend (what we recommend), you can travel there by taxi, tram or bus to our apartment. The tram and bus stops are located right next to the station. Please note that during the peak season, trains to and from Oostende can be busy during peak hours.
You are coming to Ostend via the E40, following the Kennedy roundabout towards Mariakerke and following the Elisabethlaan until you reach the beach (Northlaan). We do not have our own parking space. Parking nearby is largely paying (cheap from October to April, slightly more expensive from April to October). There is a large free parking nearby, but it is also used for sports events in the area especially during weekends. Contact us for the best options.

Hi, I work and live and travel between Ostend, Belgium, Amsterdam Holland and our rural retreat in Charente in the heart of France. I work freelance in the arts, heritage and museum world, I enjoy the good life whenever I can and I like to share that with you. I love to cook, read and enjoy music, films and tv series, all of which you will see reflected in La Grange d'Amelie. When you are looking for a very different rural retreat, you must check out our refurbished barn and huge meadow garden in the lovely Charente region.
