We arrived in the house around 12:30 am. Not knowing how to operate the heater and then send a b&b message to the host as we felt it's impolite to call them in such late. Beyond our expectation, Gina (Emily's assistant) replied the message immediately and came over to help & explain for us. It has passed 1:00 am already! The house is equipped with complete set of kitchenware and Gina replenished muffins, fruits & cakes/biscuits every day. My family enjoyed very nice breakfast with coffee & milk and watching very nice garden view through window. The house is only 5-min walk to downtown Amherst. Easy to access to some good restaurants (Judie's was our favorist) and PVTA bus stops. Emily & Gina are excellent hosts to make us feel like staying home.

We arrived in the house at midnight. The host was still available for serving and assisting us to settle. She was with great patience to guide us non native English speakers for running errants and offered baggage deposit option after our check-out the last day.

It was not comfortable in many ways, such as too small bed with too small sheets & scratchy blankets on a very hard mattress, scratchy drip-dried towels with multiple stains, drafty windows, and street noise. Some of the blankets smelled moldy, as did the place in general. It just didn’t feel quite clean enough. Two of the 4 nights we stayed, we returned late at night to find that someone (housekeeping? host? not sure who nor why) left a key in the door! Any random person could have entered and taken our belongings. We did not feel like we nor our possessions were secure there. To end on a positive note, it is really a great location.

A lovely base for our visit to our uMass student. Comfortable beds, easy access and some lovely treats to welcome us when we arrived. Could not have been better or easier.

Emily's location is PERFECT situated on a quiet street walking distance to the town of Amherst and UMass. Once we parked we didn't need to move the car. We were able to enjoy all that the town has to offer AND take a leisurely walk to see our Freshman. We hope to be back often over the next 4 years.

A recluse who loves reading -- somewhat like the eponymous Emily Dickinson....

"Dust is the only Secret..."
"Will there really be a 'Morning'..."
