A charming 1920's farmhouse in the quaint community of Alvarado. Nestled in the valley on the South Fork Holston River. Just around the bend from Alvarado Station on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Set between Damascus and Abingdon with beautiful mountain views.

**A great place for autumn and winter activities!!! Star gazing in the pasture is one of our favorites! Also, leaf season, bonfires, apple picking, cool/cold weather hikes, sledding, shows at The Barter, shopping and much more in Abingdon!

Quaint house in a good location. Near Alvarado Station- you can hear the river from front porch- Very peaceful. House was well stocked with anything you could want. Very clean, everything in working order. My dog enjoyed the front porch too! Will return if we are in the area again!

The house is in a perfect location between Abington and Damascus, VA. Very cozy accommodations with a beautifully decorated loft and bedroom upstairs. Very quiet and peaceful and within walking distance of the Creeper trail and Abington Winery. Beautiful area for a getaway.

Great place. Wonderful front porch with hammock swings. Full moon rising over the hillside was a once in a lifetime experience. Very relaxing after biking the Virginia Creeper Trail.

The property was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't help but take a hundred pictures while sitting outside. The house is adorable and it's placed on the most beautiful property that you can sit on the porch and hear the creek. Everything was so clean and there was way more space than expected. We honestly didn't want to leave. We plan to come back to this house again!

The home is incredibly charming, spotlessly clean, and perfectly comfortable. Book your trip here without hesitation. Spacious and homey, there was more than enough room for 7 of us to not feel on top of each other. The location is perfect, just across from the creeper trail and a lovely little restaurant, The River Cafe, delicious food, nicest people. Great winery just down the street as well, Not too far from town, but feels like it's own little world. Quiet and secluded, heard crickets at night, excellent stargazing, and soft, endless lawn for running around barefoot. Great place for kids and families, plenty of space for the extended brood, ping pong and air hockey in the garage, lots of board games and an upstairs loft the kids love. Plenty of linens and towels and extras like toiletries and all of the kitchen odds and ends you could need. Shannon and Lisa were so kind and generous, so easy to get in touch with and everything was so smooth. Felt the stress melt away the minute we pulled into the driveway. Pictures just can't capture the feelings of serenity that surround the home and property, it's a real treasure

Could not have been happier, kids played ping pong and games while the adults relaxed on the front porch listening to the river; house had everything you could need and was immaculate. Rural ambiance and privacy was stellar, with a 60 second walk or ride to the river and creeper trail. Perfection.
