We were staying in the ship for 5 nights. Not recommended. Unfortunatelly, on arriving nobody was meeting us. Instructions to find the place given by the owner was somewhat inacurate, and we must spend time looking for the ship in the dark late evening. The same problem applied to the instructions how to turn on electricity and use home appliances. The boat is self-sufficient, i.e. it is not connected to electricity and water suply in the canal. Electricity is coming from the solar batery, and you can have enough of it in the morning, but not enough in the evening. Those candles in the photos are for the light, not for romance. Forget a hot shower also. Water heats for too short period to be used properly. The water supply finished in day 3, after we tried to wash our hair, heating water on the gas stove. This was functioning well. We were not warned about bringing the car or USB chargers for our phones, so our normal charger was of no use in the ship. Charged our phones in the restaurants, stations and trains. In the stations one also could find a shower. Very useful. The owner responded to our messages quite quickly, but not being in London herself, she tried to arrange help of her numerous friends. Communication was complicated. After three days already we were too tired to prolong it and used our scouts survival skills to finish our stay. The ship itself is old and needs good refurbishing. Especialy windows. It was freezing during night, especialy when it was a storm in London and the wind was blowing through the holes. We could have used a fireplace, only we were afraid to make more problems. On the more optimistic note it could be said that the bed in bedroom was very comfortable (well, not the sofa though), the bedding and towels were clean, there were enough of kithen utensils and bathroom essencials. Isabella did her best to put the ship in the very nice and comfortable for us area. We think, that for 2 persons for 2-3 nights stays on summertime and well prepared this place could be a possible alternative to appartment.
