Karina and her family were amazing. I recommend everybody to stay with them. She picked me up at the train station when I arrived, prepared the train schedule for me and was caring during my staying in her house. They are very nice people, the house / room is clean and beautiful. The housekeeper takes care of the room, gives you new towels and bedsheet all the time and asks if you need something. The house is close to the train station and in safe neighbourhood. It is close to Manhattan too. The train is quite fast and reasonable. I recommend Karina as a host to everybody who travels to NY / Long Island. Thank you Karina for a wonderful stay!

Gorgeous home in a great location that was very peaceful. I particularly loved the access to the private terrace. There was no light to read by, so I had to use the desk chair as a little table for the lamp so that I could read in bed. I appreciated having access to the ice water on the outside door of the fridge, but there was no breakfast, even though it was listed in the amenities. Also, the full-length mirror in the room was on the back of a locked closet door, so could not be accessed. So while the home was luxurious, the room could be more comfortable and practical.

I like living close to Manhattan because of the excitement of the cultural scene, different people, high energy, but at the same time I like to return to our quiet neighborhood, surrounded by trees and lovely gardens. My best friend is my husband. Our three kids went off to college and we are left behind with their 2 dogs, lizard, birds and toad. We love animals as you can tell and have a large garden. We made a point to travel with our kids every summer to an exotic place for vacation, just to name a view: the Peruvian jungle, Outer Mongolia, Tanzania,Egypt, India and of course various European countries (favorite being Italy for their food and culture). I am originally German form Baden Wuertemberg (my first language), speak French and try myself with Spanish since we bought property in Nicaragua. My hobbies are classical music and ballet. My life motto is "Take one step at a time, do the best you can and enjoy the ride since God willing it will always turn out all right".
