We're located in the west foothills of the Bitterroot Mountains, in the beautiful woods just outside of town. Only 3 miles from the center of town, there is easy access to everything Hamilton has to offer, and when you return to the apartment, you are instantly removed from the hustle of town to the peace and quiet that we all hunger for ! The stairs listed in the description are only a few steps into the apartment, shown in pictures. If we are booked, be sure to check our Sapphire Getaway Apt.
Although listed as sleeping 4 with two beds, one being a queen in the bedroom, and the other a queen sofa couch, a double/queen aerobed is available if needed for up to 2 additional guests. Please let me know when you make your reservation if you have additional guests.
The kitchen is a full kitchen, entirely equipped with all the basics you will need for a pleasurable stay, full size refrigerator, all dishes, pots and pans, etc... although there is no dishwasher.
All linens and towels are provided, as well as hairdryer.
Television has Amazon Firestick, with Pandora, and iHeart for music, Amazon Prime videos, and more.
Occasionally I hold a tango dance practice, from 7-10 pm. This is not a party, it is a group of about 4-8 tango dancers praciticing what we have learned at our lessons. It is not especially loud or unpleasant, but you may hear it overhead, not more than once a week and the music ends precisely at 10 or earlier. We LOVE to teach beginners, so you are welcome to join us to learn beginning moves !
This is a daylight basement apartment, with a separate entrance, so you will have the entire space to yourself.
Weather permitting, there is a deck off of the main floor of the house, including a barbecue that you are welcome to use during your stay if you wish. Please arrange with me if you would like to utilize the deck/barbecue while you are here. Two very friendly Labradors will be happy to show you the way !
Interaction with guests
I live on the premises and am very busy with many activities. I am happy to answer any questions you might have, and help with directions, and give you some recommendations, but I am in and out a lot, so please do not hesitate to contact me in before your visit so that I may be able to assist you in advance. I am always available and do not mind being interrupted, so feel free to knock or text anytime. I will try my best not to disturb you during your visit, but you may here the tapping of doggie paws overhead !
Other things to note
I'd like to point out a few items in your apartment when you arrive, so that you will not be uncomfortable with unusual noises, etc...water treatment system, pump sounds, that sort of thing.
This home is extremely quiet and well insulated. So you might be surprised at how very quiet it is......very nice for sleeping and getting much needed rest ! In summer it is nice and cool, and toasty warm in winter.
Laundry facilities are available in the main house upstairs, laundry soap and use is complimentary, please schedule with me to do laundry in morning or during the day.
Hamilton is a small town, with a limited number of motels and other lodgings. The nearby towns are even smaller. So if you are planning a trip here between Memorial Day and Labor Day, I recommend that you book EARLY. Having definite seasons, everything happens in the summer, and on ALL weekends, so lodging can be very difficult to find at the last minute. That goes for camping as well. Just Sayin' !
We have a wonderful Farmer's Market in downtown, on Summer Saturday mornings, 9am to 12 noon. Don't miss it, it is really unique !
Also, being a small town, even in summer our restaurants may close earlier than you are accustomed to, so be sure to plan for dinners ahead of time if you plan to eat out.
Please be accurate in your reservation when you input the number of guests, this is required for insurance purposes, as well as correct payment. If your party is more than your reservation states, it will need to be updated at time of check-in before accomodations will be available to you. Thank you.

Dog MUST be leashed when outdoors, not allowed to chase wildlife, other pets are on premises property is partially fenced, arrange for open play time in fenced area. Any violation of pet rule will invalidate reservation. These firm pet rules are a result of guests not respecting pet rule, we LOVE pets and welcome responsible pet owners.

My most recent favorite quote is a book title I just saw that reads " Life is Too Short to fold the Underwear ! " If you're a traveler like I am, you probably agree! I enjoy both the company of fellow humans, and the solitude of a hike in the woods. I love meeting new people, and seeing new sites, near and far, but I also cherish sitting at the window looking out on a sunrise, wildlife passing by, or a mesmerizing snowfall... If you are visiting Montana, you are probably coming for the beauty of the outdoors, my favorite place to be. Whether it's a trail, a lake, or simply sitting on a bench in our little downtown park, I love our town and it's spectacular surroundings.
Only 3 miles from Downtown Hamilton, you will be close to everything we enjoy in our community, while at the same time you will be completely removed from everything, once you are onto my property. You will enjoy complete privacy and quiet time, dark skies, fresh air, and nature. Come on in, I'd love to share a cup of coffee with you, and introduce you to my Sapphire Getaway or Hamilton Hideaway, I have two listings.
I arrived in Montana in 1993, seeking a less complicated lifestyle, closer to nature. Soon after, I was completely in nature, both recreationally, and with my work. I found myself involved in one of the most unique occupations I could have ever envisioned, Sapphire Mining ! Montana has one of the only Sapphire deposits in the United States, and people flock here from all over the world to find their own gemstones. During the last 24 years, I have met so many interesting people through my business, sharing the love of the outdoors with them, as well as the thrill of finding gorgeous Montana Sapphires at the same time !
Now that I have an Airbnb lodging available, people are able to add the Sapphire Mining to their stay, if they choose. It's a unique opportunity we Montanans have to offer, and one of the reasons Montana is called the Treasure State !
